Addison was listed as the tenth spot for the Top 10 Preteen Headshots of 2018. With her flowing flaxen hair and porcelain skin, she looks simply angelic. Wearing a white top in a photo with a white background can be risky, but Addison’s sweater has a fascinating fuzzy texture that gives this image added interest. It’s so important that jewelry and clothing be age appropriate for a preteen, and this angel pulled it off with style.

Taylor Stuart was listed as the sixth spot for the Top 10 Preteen Headshots of 2018. This beautiful girl sure delivered an engaging headshot! Her pose is so great. With her hand on her neck and her head tilted to the side, she creates a casual vibe that makes you feel like she’s your BFF. It may seem odd that she chose not to wear matching earrings with her bright fuchsia top, but the light blue earrings actually bring out her icy blue eyes even better!

Izabella Arndt was listed as the fifth spot for the Top 10 Preteen Headshots of 2018. Izabella is a total doll in this image! Photo: Abigail Akins Pageant Planet profile
Brooke Rossi was listed as the third spot for the Top 10 Preteen Headshots of 2018. Brooke is a breathtaking young beauty, and it obviously does not take much to bring out her best in a photograph. She has spectacular coloring to begin with and is blessed with long, ginger curls and radiant green eyes. The soft, pastel yellow top that she is wearing is very flattering to her skin tone and the ruffles make her look youthful and feminine.
Photo: Brooke Rossi Pageant Planet profile
Reese Hollingsworth was listed as the second spot for the Top 10 Preteen Headshots of 2018. Reese is absolutely adorable in this photo and she looks exactly how a Preteen should look for a pageant headshot. Lauren Mansfield was listed as the ninth spot for the Top 10 Jr Teen Headshots of 2018. This young Jr Teen looks so age appropriate in this headshot. Her makeup is not over done and her hairstyle is so soft and pretty. You have to be careful wearing white against a white background because it can look boring, but Lauren pulled it off with the interesting texture on the sleeves. For added interest, she accessorized with those great ombre lavender tassel earrings that are so on-trend. With this stunning headshot, it’s no surprise her look made the list.
Photo: Lauren Mansfield Pageant Planet profile
Delaney Walker was listed as the eighth spot for the Top 10 Jr Teen Headshots of 2018. This gorgeous Jr Teen really knocked it out of the park in this shot. First of all, her pose is so original and would really make her stand out in a pageant because leaning up against a wall is not something that you see very often in headshots. Secondly, her dark, flowing hair is enhanced by that white wall and the bright yellow blouse. She also has such an engaging expression that makes her look very open and down to earth.
Photo: Delaney Walker Pageant Planet profile
Ella Scarborough was listed as the seventh spot for the Top 10 Jr Teen Headshots of 2018. Her headshots were taken by the much sought after pageant photographer, Matt Boyd. Ella looks so fun-loving and youthful in her denim jacket and white t-shirt. She proves that a headshot does not require an evening gown or high end styling to be successful, especially for a Jr Teen contestant. With her head tilted to the side, her dark hair over one shoulder and just a hint of pink lip color, she looks charming and sweet. With this stunning headshot, it’s no surprise her look made the list.
Photo: Matt Boyd
Lily Barfield was listed as the sixth spot for the Top 10 Jr Teen Headshots of 2018. Here is another fantastic headshot taken by Matt Boyd. Lily is obviously a striking young lady, but this shot gives you a real sense of her personality and presence. She has an intensely captivating gaze that makes her look quite mature and thoughtful. This photo would stand out amongst other contestants. The ice blue lace top is feminine and complements her cool coloring and long honey highlighted hair beautifully. Her makeup was applied very conservatively, which is so important for a girl who is still a Jr Teen. With this stunning headshot, it’s no surprise her look made the list.
Photo: Matt Boyd
Annsley Vick was listed as the fifth spot for the Top 10 Jr Teen Headshots of 2018. This is a classic look for a Jr Teen, and has the perfect balance of innocent, youthful energy combined with the budding sophistication of a young lady about to become a Teen. The saturated royal blue satin blouse has a bow at the neck, which brings all of the focus right up to Annsley’s face. Her makeup is not overdone and her hair and the overall styling is perfectly age appropriate. She has such an engaging smile that makes you want to get to know her, and I’m sure the judges felt the same way!
Photo: Annsley Vick Pageant Planet profile
Cassidy Quinn was listed as the fourth spot for the Top 10 Jr Teen Headshots of 2018. Cassidy is certainly pretty in pink in this attention grabbing shot. The pose is so original and engaging. Although it’s not a typical pageant headshot, it most definitely works for a girl who is in the Jr Teen division. The pastel pink off-the-shoulder sweater is casual and girly. This particular cool shade is divine against her pale skin, ash brown hair and sparkling blue eyes. With this stunning headshot, it’s no surprise her look made the list.
Photo: Cassidy Quinn Pageant Planet profile
Chloe Layton was listed as the third spot for the Top 10 Jr Teen Headshots of 2018. The photographer who took this photo knew what they were doing because this girl comes across as bright and bubbly and her upbeat vibe makes you want to meet her. A top bun hairstyle is so fun and unique and makes the most of her high cheekbones and fresh-faced beauty. That sweet lilac lace top is very flattering for her creamy complexion, so all that she needed was some light makeup and a bit of pink lipstick to complete her look.
Photo:Chloe Layton Pageant Planet profile
Myla Hadley was listed as the second spot for the Top 10 Jr Teen Headshots of 2018. This photo is a show-stopper taken by famous pageant photographer, Matt Boyd. It’s so important to be conservative with makeup and styling when creating a headshot for a young girl because you don’t want them to look older than they are. The flattering daffodil yellow turtleneck was a smart wardrobe choice because it is not too glamorous and it brings all of your attention to her beautiful face. Her makeup artist created a classic understated smokey eye and pale lip look for her and her hairdresser coaxed her hair into a face-framing style that is soft and youthful. With this stunning headshot, it’s no surprise her look made the list.
Photo: Matt Boyd
Naia Torres was listed as the first place spot for the Top 10 Jr Teen Headshots of 2018. This girl is killing it in this photo! Naia is working that side pose, and by tilting her head back like this, it ensures that the light hits her face full on. She’s got a megawatt smile that gives her a youthful enthusiasm and her ebony hair is styled into soft face-framing waves, creating a casual glamour that is not too over-the-top for a Jr Teen. The white, off-the-shoulder sweater was an ideal choice to complement her warm, glowing complexion. With this stunning headshot, it’s no surprise her look tops the list.
Photo: Grant Foto
Gigi Gijanto was listed as the tenth place spot for the Top 10 Teen Headshots of 2018. This is a stunning headshot of Gigi! The photographer made a wise choice in making this a tight shot of her face, which creates a very close, intimate feel. After all, Gigi’s face is gorgeous! The cobalt blue top and earrings are so trendy and that particular color makes her auburn hair and deep brown eyes stand out even more.
Photo: Gigi Gijanto Facebook
Madilen Kellogg was listed as the ninth place spot for the Top 10 Teen Headshots of 2018. Wow! What an attention getting photograph. Madilen’s bright blue eyes just jump out at you in this image and her dark hair, worn off to the side makes her face even more of a focal point in the photo. The side pose is simple and direct and works so well for this young lady.
Photo: Georgina Vaughan Photography
Christina Browdy was listed as the eighth place spot for the Top 10 Teen Headshots of 2018. The color red was created for this dark haired beauty! This particular ruby red enhances her lovely dark hair, skin and eyes to perfection. Her smile is warm and friendly and I’m sure the judges can’t wait to meet her!
Photo: Kathy Whittaker Photography
Olivia Occhigrossi was listed as the seventh place spot for the Top 10 Teen Headshots of 2018. Her headshots were taken by renowned pageant photographer, Kathy Whittaker. Olivia has enormous brown eyes that have been enhanced by just the right amount of makeup and her pretty face is surrounded by a halo of sun kissed curls. She wore a very feminine floral beaded top that just adds to the entire feminine look of the photo.
Photo: Kathy Whittaker Photography
Makayla Skelton was listed as the sixth place spot for the Top 10 Teen Headshots of 2018. Can’t you just feel the energy in this photograph? Makayla is a vivacious young lady and the way that her blonde hair is blowing around her face injects a lot of feeling and movement into the photo. The orchid purple top is the ideal shade against her pale skin and the sparkling pink rhinestone earrings finish the look. With this stunning headshot, it’s no surprise her look made the list.
Photo: Austin Ryde
Ashlyn Erickson was listed as the fifth place spot for the Top 10 Teen Headshots of 2018. Ashlyn is just glowing in this photo! Her skin is warm and radiant, and her makeup is on point. The pose is very interesting in that her face is turned away from the camera slightly. It gives her a soft, shy quality that is very charming. The pale butter yellow top is very fashion forward and enhances her dark curls and brown eyes. With this stunning headshot, it’s no surprise her look made the list.
Photo: FELS Photo
Natalie Robertson was listed as the fourth place spot for the Top 10 Teen Headshots of 2018. This side to camera pose works so well for Natalie, and even the way she is holding her arms up to her body contributes to the intimate feeling of the photograph. She has a cascade of pale blonde hair and a radiant smile that carries all the way to her blue eyes. Those big, blingy rhinestone earrings add the perfect bit of glam to her casual white lace blouse.
Photo: Southern Exposure Photography
Julianna Corsi was listed as the third place spot for the Top 10 Teen Headshots of 2018. What a fascinating photograph this is. First off, Julianna’s makeup is just breathtaking. She has fabulous skin to begin with, but the warm, neutral tones make her skin look rich and creamy. Absolutely spot on for a teen. The soft pink, fuzzy sweater adds some nice texture to an otherwise smooth image and enhances her honey highlighted brown hair. She has such a peaceful yet, compelling expression on her face.
Photo: Austin Ryde
Janeice Love was listed as the second place spot for the Top 10 Teen Headshots of 2018. This headshot is a tutorial in the less-is-more school of pageant photography. Janeice is a beautiful girl, clearly. But, what makes this image so powerful is that she is fully present in the shot and it is captivating! Adding to the drama is the fact that her dark hair is piled up on top of her head, with just a couple of tendrils framing her face. This choice of hairstyle adds impact because it draws your eyes to her face even more. Wearing a white top with cut-outs was a perfect choice because it adds a bit of fashion flair, but does not detract from the overall look.
Photo: Shana Owen
Autumn Narin was listed as the first place spot for the Top 10 Teen Headshots of 2018. Autumn’s photo is pageant perfection, so the number one spot was a no brainer. She’s got a welcoming, winsome smile and warm sable eyes that were enhanced by just the right amount of understated, neutral shades for a teen. Her makeup artist chose to make her eyes the focus and gave her a pale pink lip that further emphasizes her gleaming white teeth. Her rich brown hair is to die for, falling in big, glamorous waves around her lovely face. That soft, white sweater further serves to bring all of the focus right back to her face. She has her arms crossed and is leaning to the side, ever so slightly, and this gives her a very casual, likeable vibe. I’m certain that the judges could not wait to meet this friendly, approachable girl!

Starting off the list is an example of this perfect balance. USA National Miss Preteen South Carolina 2017, Margaret Turner, struck a perfect harmony with this gorgeous headshot. Her styling is impeccable. The bright pink is perfect for contestants in the Preteen and under categories. Her trendy stud earrings are simple, as should be all headshot accessories for a Preteen. This is the age where many girls will start experiment with makeup, so it is generally accepted in headshots. However, she is not overly done. While the headshot is mature in its styling and pose, Turner still looks like a kid, making this headshot a hit!

Preteens are at an age where they are starting pack some attitude, and Michaela McHenry brought enough for all of us to her headshot. Her stare at the camera commands attention. Her slight smile packs just as much attitude. While the look may seem a bit grown up, her nearly makeup-free look reminds the judges that she is just a kid, a point that bears repeating.

A makeup-free headshot is still very common for Preteens in some systems, especially for contestants who fall on the younger age of the division. Sayjel Tan, who represented New York at Miss USA Ambassador Preteen 2017, has a perfect example. This headshot is successful because it is so simple. The pose is natural, and it seems almost like a candid moment. Tan's hair is tousled and unevenly parted, like a kid who has been running around outside. Her red top is adorable and shows just enough under her long hair.

USA National Miss Preteen New Jersey 2017, Alexandra Cristofoli, can not only say that she has one of the top headshots in the country, but she also takes home the award for best bangs of any contestant in any category ever. Seriously, this is hair goals and Cristofoli took full advantage of it in her headshot. A straight-on pose is not the first choice for a pageant headshot as it is often unforgiving. However, this is a great pose to show off blunt bangs! The length of the bangs is also perfect! It hits right above her eyes, making them pop in the photo.

This power pose shows National Elite Preteen Miss Central Texas 2018, Keirsten Sauceda, is oozing confidence. Starting with her choice of color, the combination of bright blue and pink is a great choice for Preteens since the palette is bright and youthful. Her outfit leans towards the modest side with complete coverage, an appropriate choice for a Preteen. There tends to be a negative stigma associated with braces. However, this is a common age to see braces, so embrace them! The judges will not dock off for a little extra mouth bling but they will always dock for a lack of confidence!

Choosing this pose for a headshot was a risk, but it paid off! Evey Burchett is looking up to huge titles as she competes for Little Miss Tennessee United States in April. While this is not a pose for a Miss headshot, the innocence and cuteness created the perfect look for a younger Preteen!

There is a reason Avery Randall won the Overall Photogenic Award at Miss Junior High School America 2017. She looks stunning. The combination of an off-the-shoulder top and a side part with cascading waves is a common look because it works! The key helping you stand out is to put your own twist on the look. Randall does that by choosing a bright yellow top with a ruffle detail along the neckline. The top pairs perfectly with her chocolate hair and green eyes. She also has a gorgeous smile and lets it shine in her headshot!

Emma Cook took home the national title of Miss USA Ambassador Preteen 2017 and her headshot played a part in that victory! Cook looks absolutely adorable. Her long blonde curls are effortless and match the light, semi-sheer top. A very light layer of makeup highlights her blue eyes and defines her brows.

Kendall Rivers went for an updo in her headshot as International Junior Miss Palmetto State Preteen 2017 and it is a huge hit! Updos are not as common in the Preteen division because they make a contestant appear older. However, Rivers' messy take on the trend is fresh and youthful. Paired with a simple stud earring and pinstripe top, the look is sure to stand out among a pool of contestants to help her catch the eyes of the judges!

If you could take the best elements from each of the first nine photos and combine them into one, you would get the headshot of America's Elite Miss Preteen Texas 2017, Kamryn Carrier. Her headshot is a stellar example of a winning pageant headshot. To start, Carrier has such a sweet smile. It is genuine and happy, which is something judges look for in this age division.
A patterned top is bold but with no accessories, it works. Carrier is also leaning slightly forward to bring the pattern out of focus, therefore, softening the look. Flawless hair and minimal makeup complete the look.

Miss Nevada Teen USA 2017, Alexis Smith, looks sensational in this photo and I’m so thrilled that she embraced her natural hair because it is stunning. Just like Miss USA 2016, Deshauna Barber, and Miss USA 2017, Kára McCullough, she emphasized what was unique about her, and it paid off because it made her stand out. She ended up placing as the second runner-up in the Miss Teen USA 2017 pageant, her state's highest placement in the pageant since 2004. I have no doubt that the judges loved her individuality and saw her as a fantastic teenage role model because of it.

As we saw a lot in 2017, emerald green was the color of choice for many contestants, and it is a divine color on this particular young lady. In this headshot, Miss Arkansas Teen USA 2017, Allison Tucker, chose a very age-appropriate emerald green top and matching earrings to complement her dark hair and eyes. This side pose, with her hair framing her face, works very well to highlight her lovely bone structure. Of course, the best part of the entire shot is her dazzling smile and laughing eyes!

Wow, what a beautiful photo of a beautiful girl. Teen Arkansas International 2017, Maggie Williams, looks almost lit from within in her bright pink top that is adding a fresh, rosy glow to her face. The pink and aqua daisy necklace and earrings are picking up that pink color and add just the right amount of youthful femininity. Her pose is relaxed, casual and engaging. She looks warm and friendly, like the kind of girl you’d love to meet, and I’m sure the judges thought the same thing.

This headshot of Miss Nebraska’s Outstanding Teen 2017, Carsyn Long, was taken by Jenn Cady, and it is perfection. This pretty titleholder looks polished and professional with her gorgeous chocolate brown hair parted on the side. The side part looks sophisticated and brings all the emphasis to her exquisite green eyes. Even though she is wearing an off-the-shoulder red top, it is still very modest for a Teen and gives the photo a very regal feel.

Miss Texas Teen USA 2017, Kirby Lindley, is a beautiful girl, but in this photo, she is a knockout! Her gaze is very intense and draws you right in. Her hair is softly tousled and curly and is a bit dramatic for a Teen headshot, but her makeup is very soft and not overdone. If her makeup had been any heavier, she might have looked more like a Miss contestant, but this is great. I love the choice of an orange top on her because it adds that great pop of color and brings a lot of light to her mesmerizing face.

This captivating Teen is so pretty in pink! The soft pink ruffles against her skin simply infuse her face with light and make her look radiant. Teen Maryland International 2017, Au’Lauren Million, looks like a million bucks in this headshot with her long dark locks and angelic face. Look at the cool purple and pink eyeshadows accenting her eyes as well as the glowing pink blush and lipstick. Her makeup, hair and styling are all on point!

This is a very cool headshot of Miss Georgia's Outstanding Teen 2017, Annie Swan, because the background is not the standard studio backdrop that you usually see. It appears that she is just sitting in her house, hanging out and someone just happened to take her photo. The result is that she appears very down-to-earth and relatable, and that is a wonderful effect. Her golden blonde hair looks soft and not overly styled. Her makeup is flawless and emphasizes her outstanding skin and gleaming white smile. And, those flashy fuchsia earrings look really fun with the white off-the-shoulder top that she is wearing. All in all, a very unique and memorable headshot! No doubt the judges agreed, and that is exactly what you want!

Off-the-shoulder tops seem to be a trend with the Teen titleholders, and all of them on this list are doing it right. This black off-the-shoulder top that International Junior Miss Volunteer State Junior Teen 2017, Presly Pedigo, is wearing is age-appropriate while still being dressy. And, I have to say that I am so glad that she chose these fabulous London blue earrings that add the perfect amount of color and glamour to her look. They do double duty by breaking up the dark colors of her magnificent dark brown hair and black top while bringing the attention to her striking blue-green eyes. Also, check out her impeccable makeup. The lashes are long and thick without being too much, and her lip color is kept muted with a soft pink shade. The pale lip ensures that, once again, her eyes remain the focus of the photograph.

This is a very unusual and eye-catching headshot of Miss West Virginia Teen USA 2017, Olivia Hutchison. First of all, her hair has been brought up into a casual top knot, reminiscent of the hairstyle that Miss Universe 2017, Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, adopted with her evening gown when she was crowned. This choice works so well for this young lady because her face is astoundingly beautiful and your gaze is drawn right to her very intriguing eyes. Secondly, her expression is unique in that she is not smiling a big, toothy grin. She still manages to exude an air of confidence and positive energy, and that is very powerful.

I am not surprised at all that this headshot of the ravishing redhead, Miss Mississippi Teen USA 2017, Hannah Claire Chisolm, was chosen for the number one spot on our list. This photo really does have it all. Her hair is so stunning that it really does not need a lot done to it. The soft waves frame her ethereal face perfectly without overpowering her. And, what a face it is! She has a vivacious smile and warm brown eyes that were brought out by some dark lashes and the right amount of eyebrow shaping. This side pose was a great choice because we get to see the detail on the colorful embroidered top, and it makes for an attention-getting photo. I really didn’t think that she needed the large, white stone earrings, but they do add a whimsical vibe to this winning headshot.

The placement of Ninoska Vasquez's hands in her headshot frame her gorgeous face. Her elegant updo also assists with highlighting her face. The baby pink color is a feminine backdrop to this elegant look. Vasquez also chose an eye-catching pair of earrings and fabulous false lashes to accessorize this look. Headshots really are all about the details.

Jessica Procter's fresh and all-American headshot is perfect for the Miss America Organization. Procter and her photographer Matt Boyd did an amazing job capturing the essence of the organization in this photograph. Procter's confident, clean-cut and beautiful demeanor shines through. Her perfect smile is the focal point of the headshot while her golden blonde hair frames her face. In addition, the beautiful blue color of her dress is a nice touch to the image. Blue is an excellent, go-to color for headshots.

Taylor Kessler's gorgeous eyes are the center of attention in this headshot. The photograph showcases her angular bone structure and fantastic brows. The Miss Texas USA contestants always bring their A game in every area of the competition, but the headshots are one area that this state particularly excels in. Allison Drake, who competed at Miss Texas USA 2018 as Miss Zilker Park USA 2018, is certainly no exception. This stunning image has every element of glamour. Drake has windblown hair, luxurious earrings and flawless makeup.

Dani Walker's headshot is another example of the perfect windblown look. The photo highlights Walker's beauty mark and gorgeous eye color. The angle of the photograph makes it stand out from the rest. Photographer Shana Owen is skilled in pageant headshots. She is known across many state lines for her flawless work. She currently resides in Beverly Hills, California, but is originally from Dallas, Texas. Her work can be seen in California, Texas and beyond.

Davina Bennett, the beautiful titleholder we all know and love, is radiant with this stunning headshot. This photograph features a lot more movement and a lot less of a posed look than most pageant headshots. The fresh feel of the shot fits perfectly with Bennett's effortless beauty. The pops of pink are a gorgeous contrast to her skin tone. Best of all, she is confidently rocking her afro and the photographer made sure to include the entirety of her famous hair.

The fun fashion choices in Leona Koxha's headshot add a dynamic element to the image. The unique shirt pattern and large earrings are juxtaposed next to Koxha's pageant-ready hair and makeup. This youthful headshot displays Koxha's natural beauty and personal style. Not to mention her hair is picture perfect!
Leona Koxha, Miss Collegiate America 2017. Photo: Shana Owen
Matt Boyd is certainly one of the best photographers in the business. He and his wife Meredith Boyd, a makeup artist, make the perfect pageant team. Anne Elizabeth Buys wore the perfect blue color for her skin tone and hair color and mixed it up with fun earrings. The gold bangles add a nice touch, too. Buys' hand placement is also close to her face like some of the other headshots – it seems the perfect headshot may have a formula.
Anne Elizabeth Buys, Miss Mississippi 2017. Photo: Matt Boyd Photography
As I told you, Texas has some great headshots! Isabella Radovan's hair is pulled off to the side, which allows this image to show off her beautiful bone structure and her amazing eyebrows. This photo portrays that Radovan looks cool, confident and approachable, which are all great qualities to have as a person and especially as a titleholder.

This beauty's mom is a former Miss USA who placed second runner-up to Miss Universe! That being said, it's no surprise that Baylee Jensen wins the top headshot of 2017. Pageantry runs in her blood! Jensen is glowing and exuding light through this image. The white top with her golden skin was a smart choice. She sports a colorful bracelet to add a pop of color, and the contrast definitely makes her beautiful skin even more noticeable. Jensen is stunning, and Michael Franco is one talented photographer!

Sarah Marie Ramsey looks so chic in her headshot taken by Grant Foto! Black and red is a classic, eye-catching color combination that makes this headshot pop right off the page. The dark colors also stand out against the light backdrop and give a nice contrast to Ramsey's fair skin and blonde hair. Although chunky jewelry can sometimes distract from the contestant's facial beauty or overpower other aspects of the photograph, Ramsey prevented this from happening by balancing out a large necklace with smaller matching earrings. By having small earrings that match her necklace, there was no clashing between her pieces of jewelry, leading to a balanced, consistent headshot.
Ms. Texas America 2018, Sarah Marie Ramsey. Photo: Grant Foto
Megan Buelt's eyes immediately grab my attention with this headshot. They pierce right through the photo and make her have such a strong presence. Rather than going for a glamorous headshot, Buelt chose one on the more animalistic side, which definitely made her stand out among other contestants. You can tell just how powerful and confident Buelt feels in this headshot.
Ms. World 2018, Megan Buelt. Photo: @Msworldpageants Instagram page
Jansine Green looks radiating in her headshot! Her smile is so bright and eye-catching, which made it the perfect focal point for this photo. By wearing a nude lip and dark eyeliner, Green was able to draw attention to her eyes and balance out her overall makeup look. Unlike many contestants who go for a "wind in the tunnel" look when it comes to headshots, Green's hair falls down one side of her face, making this headshot look more polished than others. In addition to selecting a hairstyle and makeup look that complements her features, Green chose the perfect wardrobe for her headshot. Since she has tan skin, black hair and dark brown eyes, bright colors complement every aspect of Green. The pop of pink and turquoise add some brightness to this photo and the colors complement each other perfectly.

Nova Kopp held nothing back with this glamorous headshot! Everything from her smokey eyes to her big, bouncy curls is the epitome of pageant glam. By framing her face with her curls, Kopp ensured that her facial beauty remained the focal point of the photograph. Her intense eyes are complemented by the dark eye makeup, making them shine through the photo.

Is it just me, or is choosing the best aspect of the headshot a challenge for everyone? There are just way too many things to love about this shot! Amanda Middleton's hairstyling and makeup application is flawless, her eyes and smile pierce right through the photo, and the styling is impeccable. Middleton's hair is so shiny and voluminous, which makes it frame her face perfectly. The combination of dark eye makeup and a nude lip prevents her makeup from overshadowing her facial beauty and ensures that her eyes shine. Middleton's eyes stand out even more because the color is picked up and highlighted by the earrings she is wearing. Finally, her orange top complements the tan tones of her skin and her dark hair.

Sarah Howard's personality truly shines in her headshot for the 2018 International Ms. pageant. Her sweet smile looks radiating in this photograph and you can see the life in her eyes. Her eyes are highlighted even more by her brown-toned smokey eye makeup, as a black smokey eye may have been too dark for her fair skin and blonde hair. The styling in Howard's headshot is also absolutely flawless. The slight inclusion of her emerald green top complements her blonde hair beautifully. Her large, sparkly earrings pick up the embellishments on Howard's top, tying her look together.

Lisa Van Orden went all out when it came to her ultra glamorous headshot! Georgina Vaughan is known for taking fabulous pageant headshots and was chosen to take the official photos of the 2017 Miss Universe contestants. Van Orden made the perfect choice by choosing Vaughan to take her headshots. The dark eye and soft pink lip looks great on Van Orden because she has dark brown hair and brown eyes. This makes her eyes pop even more and attention is immediately drawn to them. The styling in this headshot is also a highlight of this photo; I love that Van Orden matched her earrings to the stoning on her neckline.
International Ms. 2018, Lisa Van Orden. Photo: Georgina Vaughan
Kristin Chucci looks absolutely radiating in her headshot taken by Carlos Velez! Her lighthearted personality is shining right through her engaging smile and bright blue eyes. Her flowing waves frame her incredible bone structure and make her eyes pop even more. The styling in Chucci's headshot is on point! Her large, detailed earrings pick up the colors in the floral design on her dress, tying together her whole look. The soft pink tones in the flowers on her dress are also balanced out by the pink tones in her lip color.
Ms. Earth 2017, Kristin Chucci. Photo: Carlos Velez
Jessica Schiff is bringing so much intensity to this headshot! Her dark eye makeup draws attention right to her eyes and makes them pierce right through the photo. Her blonde hair is styled in big, bouncy curls that frame her face beautifully. The nude lip prevents her hair and makeup from overshadowing her facial beauty, emphasizing how important balance in a photo is.

Katie Kelley claimed the number one spot on this year's top 10 list with this gorgeous headshot taken by Georgina Vaughan! There are so many things about this photo that make it deserving of the top stop. Her hair is shiny, her eyes and smile are sparkling, her skin looks flawless and the styling is wonderful. Kelley's bright smile and sparkling eyes make this such an engaging headshot – they immediately grab the attention of whoever is looking at it. Her makeup application is flawless, which makes her skin look radiant and her eyes pop. The emerald earrings and green top complement Kelley's skin tone beautifully and make her hair look even shinier!

I love everything about this headshot of Mrs. North America Universe 2017, Janelle Woods McNish. The vibrant yellow is popping against her honeyed skin tone and makes the most of her dark hair and amber eyes. Her gaze is intense and yet very inviting. The yellow-gold earrings with the pink and blue stones add a very fashionable appeal to this sophisticated and regal photo.

What a fantastic photo of Mrs. Kansas America 2017, Cassie Hickel! She looks so pretty wearing this off-the-shoulder top that sets off her glowing skin. Because her skin is so sensational, she does not require a lot of makeup. Her look is natural and fresh and the focus is on her warm, brown eyes and dynamic smile. The short hair curling around her lovely face is an outstanding hairstyle choice for her and makes her look angelic and ethereal.

This seemingly simple shot keeps all the attention on the subject of the photo, which it should because when you are this gorgeous, you don’t want to over complicate things. Mrs. Tennessee America 2017, Virginia Mulrooney chose a fuchsia halter top that shows off her beautifully bronzed shoulders and acts as a frame for her exquisite face and knockout smile. This southern belle looks warm, glowing and approachable.

You cannot take your eyes off of Mrs. Florida America 2017, Tatiana Sidorova, in this headshot. She is wearing a bright floral top with a unique neckline that she accented with turquoise bracelets and earrings. I am crazy about how fashion-forward this shot is and how the flattering turquoise color ties all the pieces together. Her mesmerizing smile and engaging pose combine to create a simply impeccable photograph.

The first thing I noticed about this photo of Mrs. Georgia America 2017, LaCrisha Burton Saba, was her pose. The pose is playful and casual and creates a very intimate feel to the shot. Even the way that she is holding her hands is charming. The white background combined with the white outfit causes her to stand out even more, and her friendly smile and kind expression make her seem so relatable. Sweet as a peach!

This headshot is just infused with positive energy! Jewel tones are ideal for Mrs. America 2018, Mekayla Eppers, because she is simply resplendent in this particular shade of red. She has just the right amount of makeup on and her hair is loosely curled and not too perfect, which creates a very fresh and vibrant feeling. And, her dazzling smile makes her look friendly, warm and welcoming. It is no wonder the judges adored her so much and decided that she would make the perfect Mrs. America.

Wearing white against a white background can be very risky in a headshot, so it’s best to know what you’re doing if you choose this look. Mrs. Rhode Island America 2017, Amy Diaz, knows exactly what she’s doing because this photo is sublime. Because she has a warm complexion and dark hair and eyes, she just pops right out of this white background, and this photo becomes all about her and her gorgeous face and smile. She looks so pretty and down-to-earth in this picture that I’m sure the judges could not wait to meet her in person!

This is such a fabulously fun, over-the-top, va-va-voom headshot that fits this glamorous lady and her pageant system to perfection. Mrs. Arkansas United States 2017, Shonjrell Ladner, is channeling her inner Jessica Rabbit with her sultry brunette hair and crimson-colored long sleeve jersey gown. From the long flowing locks to the outrageously flashy rhinestone earrings, this queen is looking seductive and diva-licious!

This shot may seem understated, but when you’ve got a face this captivating, it’s best just to keep it simple. It’s no shocker that Mrs. California United States 2017, Heather Denison, takes the number two spot on our list because she looks absolutely divine here. The chin down to the shoulder pose is subtle but very clever as it makes her eyes look even bigger and makes her gaze the focus of the photo. The color red was made for this striking woman, and the off-the-shoulder top is just enough to brighten up her beautiful face. This California girl looks effortlessly radiant and polished.

It’s easy to see why this headshot was chosen as the number one Mrs. headshot of 2017. I mean, wow! If you have ever seen Mrs. Nevada America 2017, Stephanie Barrett, you know that she is a breathtaking woman, but this photo of her is jaw-dropping. If we break it down and examine the details, we see that her makeup is flawless, first of all. Her beautiful blue eyes have been highlighted by the perfect shades of eyeshadow and heavily fringed lashes. And, because her eyes are taking center stage, going with a pale pink lipstick is ideal. The choice to make her eyes the focal point of the photograph is genius because it makes her gaze so riveting. You cannot help but be drawn in.
The waves of her hair are so lustrous and shiny that it looks like you could touch them. Hair and makeup is such a crucial part of the success of your headshot that you cannot afford to skimp in this area. This photo demonstrates why you must have a seasoned hair and makeup artist on hand to make you look your best. And, finally, that periwinkle blue sequined top and matching earrings are the absolute ideal blue shade to complement her skin tone and overall cool coloring. This photograph, created by the incomparable Georgina Vaughan, not only captures her physical beauty, which is stunning, but it also manages to embody that very special, indescribable quality, charisma.

Kat's tousled locks thrown to the side look effortlessly polished, while her cute bracelets and easy-going denim jacket show her approachability. I love that her makeup is very age-appropriate. She is wearing just enough lip and cheek color to make her skin glow without making her appear too done up.
National American Miss Ohio Preteen, Kat Sweeney.
Kendall looks absolutely flawless in this photo, both her hair and makeup are on point. The subtle blowing of her hair to one side showcases her angular jawline, while the simple white color of the blouse helps the on-looker to focus on her features.
Miss Preteen United States, Kendall Bear.
I cannot get over how absolutely adorable Milan looks in this photo. The juxtaposition of the girly floral headband with her artfully placed arm shows both her girly nature along with her fun side. Milan’s gorgeous smile stands out against the basic background, and the pops of pink on her outfit are striking against her beautiful complexion.
New Jersey USA Ambassador Jr. Preteen, Milan Grooms.
The no-smile headshot can be a difficult look to pull off, but Alyssa shows us how it is done with ease! Her subtle no-teeth smirk looks stunning with her natural makeup look. With her curled and volumized hair, Alyssa appears polished and looks mature in a positive way. It showcases her ability to take on the title and role associated with being the International Junior Miss Preteen.
International Junior Miss Preteen, Alyssa Dass.
Chloe absolutely shines in her pop-of-pink outfit and jeweled earrings. The blowing waves of her hair show off her stunning features, while her soft cat-eye makeup draws the attention to her peepers. The placement of Chloe’s wrist is just casual enough to make her posing look effortless and not staged.
International Junior Miss Yellowhammer State Preteen, Chloe Wegner
It can be hard for a brunette to stand out against a dark background, but the pairing of Clark’s dark features with an ivory ensemble helps her stand out against the black backdrop. Clark has also perfect the pageant wave side-swept hairstyle, with long voluminous curls cascading down her back.
National American Miss Virginia Preteen, Clark Rector
Everyone has an angle placement that looks best, whether it is looking to the left or right. Emma clearly knows that the slight angling of her face to her left is absolute perfection. By slightly looking down and to her left, she showcases her adorable dimple and sharp jaw line. Not to mention her dramatic eye makeup and perfectly teased hair create headshot goals.
Miss Jr. Teen Tennessee, Emma Conn.
Obviously, any time a girl can wear her crown in a headshot it adds a bit of the glam factor. Brianna’s hair is perfectly styled with her crown atop, with her bangs doing a slight swoop in front of the crown. Her dress choice of icy blue is reminiscent of Queen Elsa in Frozen, but the cooler blue tone is lovely on Brianna’s mocha skin. Need help finding the right color of dress for your skin tone?
National American Miss Jr. Teen, Brianna Smith.
With most headshots being a straight on composition, the side shoulder and glance from Britney throws an interesting twist on a traditional photo. Britney’s chocolate locks are curled and teased to perfection, while her makeup is age appropriate. The ever-so-slight contouring of her cheekbone helps her features standout.
Miss Jr. Teen United States, Britney Barnhart.
Taylor’s blonde, long, luscious locks take center stage in our number one headshot spot. Her styling is a little unexpected, with most of the curls being towards the bottom of her hair. I love her slightly angled profile and glance creates a unique pose for her picture, while still showcasing her complete face. Taylor’s added pop of color with bright teal earrings completes the look and noticeably adds color to her already bright eyes.
USA National Miss Preteen, Taylor Hughes.
Alyssa went for a glam headshot, and I think she made a great choice! The top along with the big golden earrings stand out for this headshot. The smokey eye makeup she went for brings out her gorgeous features. The glossy nude lip keeps the look neutral with all of the glam surrounding it. Alyssa's eyes and smile really stand out here!

This headshot has a really cool-toned theme, and it emphasizes Emily's icy blue gorgeous eyes! The cool-toned gray (loose) turtleneck is beautiful and makes her eyes pop. The jewelry is very minimalistic but adds a great sheen. The warm smokey eye is really the only warm tone in this headshot, besides her chocolate shaded hair, and it makes her eyes pop even more! Emily is stunning.

This headshot is all about Carissa and her beauty and simplicity. You cannot see any clothing and she is wearing no jewelry, which means all eyes are on her! It overall was a great choice. This is gorgeous.

If you are stuck on a color to wear for your next headshot, red is the perfect go-to color for every girl. Garin absolutely shows that here while she is rocking the red. Most hair colors and skin tones look great with red, and Garin's deep hair and light skin tone go perfectly together with her outfit choice. The makeup is natural and the accessories are minimal. This is a gorgeous look and headshot!

Madeline did everything right for her perfect headshot. When I see this headshot, my first thought is how simple and beautiful it is. There are no crazy colors, no big hair, and there is an overall simple setting. The white theme and simple accessories are stunning and complement Madeline so well. I love her short hair and simple makeup, as they really are the center of this photo. This is absolutely gorgeous!
Miss Minnesota 2016, Madeline Van Ert. Photo: Miss Minnesota
I am all about everything in this headshot. I love her serious glance and how classy this photo is while still looking fierce. The hair blowing in the wind not only makes her hair more voluminous, but it takes it away from the front and sides of Tarah's face and allows all of the focus to be just on her face and beauty. The background is the perfect color to go with the overall color theme, and I think that her outfit is absolutely perfect for this photo. I love everything about this. Tarah looks beautiful!
Miss West Portland USA 2016, Tarah Land. Photo: Miss West Portland USA
You don't usually see hair completely pulled back in headshots, but Emanii made the perfect choice in doing so. All of the focus in this headshot is on her face and beauty. Even the way she is posed makes the focus just on her. The accessories don't overpower the shot or draw attention away from Emanii;, they really add some personality to the overall look. I love the neutral colors and the gorgeous setting for this headshot. Emanii looks amazing!

This is another type of headshot style that you don't see too often in the pageant industry, but another way to prove that you don't have to be taking the typical picture to have a beautiful shot. This color theme and overlay is not what we usually see for pageant queens, but it is absolutely gorgeous and I love it! Shirley is beautiful here, and the color scheme really brings the photo together and makes it a simple but stunning headshot.

Allison's baby blue eyes are captivating in this gorgeous photo. The blue outfit makes Allison's eyes stand out in this headshot, which is perfect because keeping the attention on the gorgeous girl is what headshots are all about. Alicia is glowing in this beautiful headshot. Everything about this headshot, to me, is perfect for Alicia and really captures attention to her to stand out. The hairstyle and makeup in this headshot are really sleek, natural and simple, which makes Alicia glow in this photo. No matter how many times I look at this picture, every time I think that the red outfit was 100% the right choice. I love the color and how well it complements Alicia, and I love the style of the outfit as well. The earrings are a great touch for this gorgeous headshot as well.

Wow! This dramatic and fierce headshot is so stunningly beautiful in every way. Kylie is so gorgeous and everything about this close-up headshot shows that. I love how closed in the headshot is on Kylie, and how her hair is almost the complete border of the photo. The blue outfit adds the perfect touch to this fierce photo and perfect personality. The makeup is smoky and makes Kylie's brown beautiful eyes stand out. I love this!

My eyes are immediately drawn to Cheryl’s headshot for USA Ambassador Ms. Her pose and smile are effortless. She looks warm and welcoming and the neutral blue and gray tones draw the eyes straight to her face. The short dark hair rounds her face shape, making her skin glow and highlighting her great facial features. She looks happy and has a great smile.
USA Ambassador Ms., Cheryl Schrier.
Rose’s headshot is the best example of how to make a closer headshot work in your favor. A closer shot, like this one, brings a sense of intimacy and trust. Her asymmetrical hairstyle sculpts her face perfectly and hugs right above her chin. This outlines her face. The added earring provides a sense of glam to this shot.
International Ms., Rose Buckley.
Saryna’s headshot is great because of the color scheme and the boldness in her look. With the crown on, it shows she is Queen and in charge. The purple stones in her crown matche her makeup, lips and earrings. She chose a bright yellow outfit and this allows more color to come through the picture. The statement necklace adds more flair without being overpowering.

Yanne’s headshot is giving us all the way glam and fierceness in her look. Her afro sculpts her face and brings out her personality. Just from looking at this picture you can easily see she is sure of herself and exudes confidence. Her skin is radiant, smooth and even. Her hand adds dimension and depth to the photograph. Her asymmetrical outfit adds that extra bit of feminine and sex appeal to this overall look.

Tien is giving us that big Texas smile with our number one Ms. headshot. Immediately, the judges’ eyes will be drawn to hers because of her body positioning. She’s looking up at the photographer, making her eyes bigger and more pronounced. Her hair is fabulous and styled to perfection in this shot. She looks fun, confident and approachable; all characteristics for a great titleholder.

Natalie is all glam and gorgeous in this shot! The pink accents in the shot are beautiful with the pink shirt, earrings and lipstick. It's great to have a theme color in headshots if you are looking for consistency. The dark hair and dark makeup along with the light background and bright pink accents is a great combination for a beautiful headshot.

Stephanie is glowing in this headshot! It is usually risky to stick with one color through the whole headshot, such as the white shirt, background and earrings, but it brought all of the attention to her beauty and didn't wash her out! The floral designs of the shirt and the gold in the earrings give the white theme some pop. This all helps to bring the focus to her bright smile and gorgeous blue eyes. This is a beautiful headshot.

Yellow clothing and accessories look beautiful on women with darker and deeper skin tones and/or hair colors. There is something about yellow that brightens up every photo, and it really goes great with so many other colors! The blue accent earrings bring a lot of personality to this photo but really brings attention to her overall look and glowing smile.

This blushing pink headshot is unique, elegant and beautiful. With all of the pink surrounding Wendi, it really is a different headshot, but it is eye-catching. The flowers add a beautiful touch. Her bright blue eyes really stand out behind all of the pink in this headshot. It is a great style and accent choice!

You typically don't see an over-the-shoulder type poses for a headshot, or any pose from the back instead of the front for that matter, but Jane really brought her A-game with her posing and the photographer's skills. This headshot is seriously gorgeous! The green color for the top is beautiful, especially with her brunette hair and chocolate eyes. The earrings add a gorgeous accent to the overall look. The natural makeup and hair are stunning and the perfect touches. This headshot of Jane really set the bar for beauty and new poses!

This headshot truly stands out among the rest, especially with any headshot I personally have ever seen. Usually, you do not see headshots with this type of lighting. It is dramatic and mysterious... and it really works! This headshot makes me want to know more about Sarah, which is the goal when judges see headshots, right? Sarah is stunning, and everything about this headshot is beautiful. The makeup and hair styles go perfectly with the theme of this headshot. It is all so gorgeous.
