Katherina McQuade is a model, pageant titleholder, and dance teacher who was raised in Whitestone, New York. She graduated from Marymount Manhattan College in 2018. Throughout college, she maintained her Dean's List status while pursuing pageantry, dance, and volunteerism.
Katherine is the founder of “Promoting Hope – Potholders for Pancreatic Cancer Awareness” in honor of her grandmother, Genevieve Bonura. Through this platform, she has raised thousands of dollars for pancreatic cancer research.
Katherine aspires to perform with the famous Radio City Music Hall Rockettes and has been training in their precision dance technique for the last five years at the Rockette Summer Intensive where she is an Alumni. She has danced competitively for over a decade with the Landrum School of Performing Arts “All Star” Company Dance Team. She now teaches dance at Landrum where her specialty is teaching children under the age of 12 dancing, acting, modeling, and public speaking skills.
Katherine has worked as a model for Ashley Lauren for most of her young adult years. In addition to showroom modeling, Katherine has done video and catalog modeling for multiple Ashley Lauren gown collections.
Katherine has been competing in pageantry since she was 10 years old, first competing in the National American Miss system. Katherine won the title of Miss New York Jr. Teen 2012 and competed for the national Jr. Teen title. In 2015, she represented New York at USA National Miss 2015. Katherine competed against 29 other young women and came out victorious.
After giving up the title of USA National Miss 2015, Katherine was awarded the title of National American Miss New York 2016. She traveled again to Hollywood, California where she competed at the National American Miss national pageant, this time in the Miss division. By the end of the pageant, Katherine was crowned the 2016-2017 National American Miss.
After completing her reign as National American Miss, Katherine decided to compete in the Miss United States system. After being awarded the title of Miss Queens United States, Katherine competed for the title of Miss New York United States. She ended up placing as 1st runner-up to Coco Lena Hunter.
Determined to compete for the title of Miss United States 2018, Katherine was appointed the title of Miss Maine United States 2018. She traveled to Florida to represent Maine at the national pageant during the summer of 2018. Although she did not place during the finale, Katherine was awarded the high-point interview award.
After competing for the title of Miss United States 2018, Katherine traveled to Washington D.C. to compete at the Face of the World USA competition. During this competition, Katherine competed in photogenic, runway, evening gown, and video introduction competitions, hoping to win an all-expense paid trip to represent the USA at the international Face of the World competition. During the finale, Katherine placed as 2nd runner-up.
On August 28, 2018, Katherine announced that she would be assuming the inaugural title of Miss Cosmos United States 2018. Katherine served as Miss Cosmos United States until July 6, 2019, when she crowned Katie Mode in Orlando, Florida.
On July 7, 2019, Katherine announced that she had been appointed the title of International Junior Miss Maine. During the finale, held on July 13, 2019, Katherine placed as the 3rd runner-up.
