Vernon Local Samantha Sewell, 20, represented Canada as well as the Vernon and area at the Miss Royalty International Pageant, in Milwaukee Wisconsin From July 5th-8th.
After being bullied for years due to having several speech impediments, and having struggled in school.
Sewell has held 5 National Titles and her 1 regional.
Sewell who started her journey as Miss MRI Canada last September has been to over 80 events across the Okanagan and B.C this year, spreading awareness to her platform, Be Someone's Hero Not a Bystander, and Live Out Loud Charity, which she is a National Ambassador for.
At the Miss Royalty International Pageant, Sewell managed to bring home the International Title of Miss International Volunteer, the first time this title has been brought to Canada! This was a very important title to Sewell, because of her goal to use her Pageant crowns and titles to make a difference in the world and her community!
Sewell also was awarded 1st Runner-up to Miss Royalty International, and top 5 age 13+ Role Model, the youngest one this year to place in this category!
Sewell says there are many things she wishes to accomplish this year as Miss International Volunteer some of which include, passing a law which would make it mandatory for the Kids Help Phone number in all schools across BC and Canada, Speaking at Local Schools about Anti-Bullying and Suicide Prevention, attend ALL local events, and much more.
This year is going to be something to remember, for myself and my community, says Sewell!
Thank you to everyone in Vernon, My Sponsors and my Friends and family for helping me bring this important title home!
