Mrs. Washington America, Mrs. Washington American and Miss Washington For America 2020
Due to the Covid 19 Pandemic, there were countless changes to the original plan for this year’s pageant. After numerous date and venue changes, the pageant was successfully produced on August 8th, 2020 at the Red Lion Inn Ballroom in Olympia Washington.
Director Pamela Curnel worked tirelessly for months together with Washington State Governor Jay Inslee to create an environment that would exceed health and safety requirements for all of the contestants, pageant staff, judges and the host hotel.
In keeping with health mandates, the coronation ceremony was held outside on the back lawn so that all of the contestants could practice proper social distancing. There was no audience of any kind at the competition and husbands and family were also not allowed to attend. All of the queens crowned themselves, one at a time, even the married queens. Traditionally, husbands crown their wives, so this was the first time that this ever happened.
There were 22 married contestants and 5 miss contestants.

New Titles:
In 2018, a brand-new title was created for those women who want to compete in the state of Washington who are NOT MARRIED! That title is called, “Miss Washington For America”.
In 2020, yet another title was created! This new title is ONLY for women who are married, BUT it is given to the woman who becomes First Runner Up in the Mrs. competition. Therefore, if you don’t win the “Mrs. Washington America” title, you still have a chance to win the “Mrs. Washington American” title and go on to compete at the annual National competition.
The first woman to win the Mrs. Washington American 2020 title was Valerie St. John
ALL THREE of these titles are given away on the same night, at the same pageant, and ALL THREE winners go on to compete at the National Competition in Las Vegas!
Both of the new titles are owned and operated by the "Mrs. America Presents" Pageants organization. There is a “Miss For America and a “Mrs. American” Pageant held in every state!
