I have had the most fantastic experience as Mrs. DC America 2019. I have grown as a woman, businesswoman, mother, wife and friend. I have met the most interesting people, attended extraordinary events, made friendships that will last a lifetime and everyday is a new opportunity. I love my DC America family because that is what we truly are, a family.

Raquel Riley Thomas is the Director for the Year. She is very compassionate and understand with the contestants. As a former military officer, she is very organized and discipline, so her pageants are always put on with professionalism and integrity. She made history as the first pageant director in the Miss DC for America and Mrs. DC America pageant at the prestigious Kennedy Center. Her pageants in 2019 won more awards in all three pageants: Mrs. America, Miss for America and Mrs. World. Her Mrs. DC America pageant was voted “ “Best Production” by Lux magazine. To top is off, under her directorship, another state titleholder, Mrs. Delaware, made top 15, for the first time in The history of the Mrs. America pageant. She also gives a portion of all pageant proceeds to a non-profit supporting Veterans. She was recently inducted into the Library of Congress. She is your Director of the Year because she embodies what Pageant Planet stands for... honor.

From the time I was scouted to compete in 2014, to being on the executive team since 2016, I’ve seen this pageant grow in leaps and bounds! Director Raquel Riley Thomas outdoes her production each year! It was held at the John F. Kennedy Center For Performing Arts in 2019 and will take place there again in 2020! She provides workshops throughout her contestant’s reigns, helping them be better prepared for competition! Mrs. Thomas gives her pageant contestants many opportunities to participate in amazing events and appearances throughout the Washington, DC metro area! For me, personally, competing for the crown and title of Mrs. DC America 2014 opened many doors in my community work, and has helped my business grow! I love working with her elite team of professionals and the incredibly accomplished well rounded women who participate in this pageant! I rate her and this pageant system 5 stars in all areas!
