Zozibini Tunzi started her pageant career in 2017 when she competed for the Miss South Africa 2017. She was named one of the Top 26 semifinalists but did not make the Top 12.
In 2019, Zozibini Tunzi returned to compete at the Miss South Africa 2019 pageant where she won the crown, walked away with the title of Miss South Africa 2019 and received the opportunity to advance to the Miss Universe 2019 pageant.
