I grew up in a low income family. I was raised by my father in a single parent household because my mother suffered with substance abuse. Growing up, I did suffer with and thankfully overcame social anxiety. At the age of 17, my mother passed away and at 19 I graduated from cosmetology school and started my career at European Wax Center as a Wax Specialist. I love what I do because I get to establish genuine relationships with my guests and I get to boost their self esteem by improving their looks helping them feel better about themselves. A year ago I lost my father after he had been suffering the effects of a stroke he had 2 years prior. Being his caretaker gave me a completely new level of respect for life, and taught me deeper levels of compassion and empathy. Now that I’m 6 years into my career at European Wax Center, my goal is to keep growing and learning with the company so that I may establish my own EWC location one day. I recently became an associate of World Financial Group, where we help families and individuals become financially literate so that they’re able to protect their futures and live the lives of their dreams.

Why start competing in pageants

I started competing after I was inspired by the Queens on stage at Miss Universe 2015. They possessed such confidence, elegance, and poise and so many other traits that motivated me to work on becoming the best version of myself. Growing up without a mother, I didn’t have that female role model to look up to. For me, I feel pageantry has in a way been the mother I never had. Competing in pageants has taught me confidence, elegance, poise, and grace. It’s taught me to be fierce and to go after the things I want in life, but most important of all it’s helped me along my walk with God as I’m constantly improving and growing into the woman he created me to be. I want to be the inspiration for others as the Queens I watched on stage at Miss Universe 2015 were for me.
