Peyton Brown is Miss Alabama USA 2016!
A native of Eufaula, Peyton Brown is currently a senior in Communication Studies at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. She is active in her church, her school and her community and tries to give back in as many ways as possible.
She is particularly passionate about educating people, especially young women, on the importance of protecting their skin. Her commitment to this cause comes from losing her father to melanoma skin cancer in 2000. She would like to use her year as Miss Alabama USA to encourage others to understand what it takes to have healthy, beautiful skin and the dangers of over-exposure from the sun and tanning beds.
Peyton is involved with the American Cancer Society and Relay for Life. She also spends time volunteering with the local Boys and Girls Club of West Alabama and the Make A Wish Foundation.
At the University of Alabama, Peyton juggles academics with helping out at local events and charities through her sorority and attending Church of the Highlands.
She loves being outdoors and enjoys water sports, riding horses and staying active. She still considers herself a bit of a homebody and loves cooking and baking, and spending time at home with her family.
Peyton is the daughter of Johna and Russell Cotton and the late Steve Brown. She has a younger brother, Copeland, and an older sister, Alexis.
About the dress that Peyton wore at Miss Alabama USA
She impressed the judges in a sultry, yet delicate evening gown style.
While this evening gown could certainly be classified in the ivory/white family, it has a subtle blush effect due to a semi-sheer overlay on a nude base. This color doesn't necessarily have a "pop", but the more understated color palette allows Peyton's dewy complexion and lustrous hair to really shine (no pun intended!).
This column silhouette is weighted thanks to full-coverage beading and allows it to fall beautifully over her curves.
