Hello! I’m so thankful and honored to be the reigning 2020 International Junior Miss Arizona Junior Teen, and I am so excited about competing at internationals in Texas this summer! Last year I was the 2019 Royal International Miss Arizona Preteen and enjoyed my time bonding with my sister queens while serving others in my community as well as shining brightly on the international competition stage! This past July I also placed 2nd runner up at the National American Miss Arizona pageant which was actually was the first pageant system I started with the previous year so that was really special to me! I’ve received several optional awards from various pageant systems over the past 2 years including talent, casual wear, runway, actress, photogenic, community service, and academic! I’m always proud to represent my home state of Arizona and love to meet new people!

I love playing the piano, dancing competitively(my favorite dance styles are tap and ballet),reading a ton of books, and spending time with my 5 siblings, parents, and 2 beautiful Cocker Spaniels! In the past year, one of my favorite hobbies I began is modeling and working the runway! I was honored to walk in New York Fashion Week for 3 designers as well as a runway show in Nashville where the designer Deanie Couture named the dress I wore “the Leanna” and featured it in her catalog! I’m proud to be a Marc Defang Spokesmodel and I own at least 15 pairs of shoes designed by him! I actually have a pair of shoes which he named after me called “the Leanna” and you should check them out on his website!

Another fun and important activity of mine is serving people in my community and state, and my 2 most enjoyable service opportunities are playing the piano for residents at a local nursing home and preparing meals for malnourished children around the world at Feed My Starving Children. I’m an advocate for Alzheimer’s Awareness and recently participated in the Walk to End ALZ. I value the importance of spreading the word about Alzheimer’s disease and why we need to find a cure for it as soon as possible.

Why start competing in pageants

I first went to cheer on a friend at a state pageant and then asked my mom if I could enter one myself so I did the next year, and I made Top 10 finalists in my first pageant ever with over 70 girls competing! Since then I have held 2 state titles which have given me the opportunity to make new friends while enjoying serving people in my community and state. I encourage all girls and ladies to try out a pageant because they have helped my confidence level, taught me to step out of my comfort zone, and taught me to just be myself!
