Leah Roddenberry


Leah Roddenberry is a 16 year old honor student from Bradenton, FL. The youngest of five children, Leah loves spending time with her family every chance she can.

A dancer all of her life, Leah loves performing and is an active member of her school’s Varsity cheerleading squad and was recognized as an All-American Cheerleader.

After participating in the Miss Florida Sunshine Princess Program for 6 years, Leah was awarded the title of Miss Florida’s Outstanding Teen 2013 and then Miss Orlando’s Outstanding Teen 2015 and reigned again as Miss Flordia's Outstanding Teen 2015 (see fun facts for more info)!

Leah has dedicated her life to children suffering from cancer. Over this past year alone, she has traveled over 20,000 miles meeting and speaking to over 500,000 people. Her mission is to leave a small piece of wonderment and inspiration behind forever because children facing a life threatening illness deserve it.

After donating her hair to Locks of Love several years ago, Leah became involved with many organizations focused on helping children with cancer such as BASE Camp Children’s Cancer Foundation, Give Kids the World, Runway to Hope, the V Foundation, Children’s Cancer Center, and For A Day Foundation. She recently partnered with Mattel, the makers of Barbie, through CureSearch.org to host “Ella Parties.” Leah is also actively involved with Children’s Miracle Network, the Read Across America movement and worked with Mayor Buddy Dyer to pass a proclamation designating March 3rd “Read Across America Day” in Orlando.

She is an active member of the Mayor’s Book Club and was honored by the Manatee County Community Foundation by being awarded the Young Spirit of Manatee Award for her service to her community.

FUN FACTS about Leah Roddenberry

Leah Roddenberry was first runner-up to Leah Sykes, Miss Florida's Outstanding Teen 2013. She was Miss North Florida's Outstanding Teen 2013 and was 14 at the time. It was also Roddenberry's first try at the title. Sykes went on to win the title of Miss America's Outstanding Teen 2014. Roddenberry then assumed the role of Miss Florida's Outstanding Teen 2013. She served he reign and crowned Miss Florida's Outstanding Teen 2014, Michaela McLean. Roddenberry came back the next year as Miss Orlando's Outstanding Teen 2015 and won the title of Miss Florida's Outstanding Teen 2015 at the age of 16. She is the first ever to hold a state MAOT title twice. Roddenberry then crowned Miss Florida's Outstanding Teen 2016, Anjelica Jones.
