Kaylee Brooke McCollum or KB as she is known has been crowned Miss Mississippi Teen USA 2019. This was not Kaylee's first time on the stage, as in 2018 she competed and placed as top 10.
Kaylee is a first-year student at Itawamba Community College where she is competing for her basics to get into nursing school. After finishing her basics, she plans to attend Mississippi University for Women for a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. After graduating her masters she will go to The University of Mississippi Medical Center to achieve her ultimate career goal to become a Nurse Anesthetist. During Kaylee's senior year in high school, she completed three College credit courses to ensure she would finish her schooling faster than expected.
Over the next years as Miss Mississippi Teen USA 2019 Kaylee will be working with the charity, “The Full Tummy Project” which she has been a partner with for the past few years. The charity helps decrease the food insecurity rate in the state of Mississippi. Kaylee has been recognized by the national organization “No Kid Hungry” for her humanitarian efforts in the advocacy for the charity and in decreasing the food insecurity rate in her state.
In the past years, Kaylee has also been traveling to schools in her state teaching youth how to manage and lessen there stress as well as to overcome self dought. She decided to do this after losing a close friend to suicide. he also encourages them to have open discussions with their peers, teachers and parents regarding the feelings they may be having.
