Gerry was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. She is currently a home schooled junior at Abeka Christian Academy.
At the of 12, Gerry created and now manages her non-profit 501(c)3 organization called Shoes For Africa and More Inc. This organization originally existed to support her grandmother's mission to supply shoes for kids in Africa and now works with her sister within Stay Gorgeous Girls charitable organization. The organizations collect dresses, jewelry, makeup and prizes for the girls involved.
Gerry believes that confidence is something that is developed over time from life experiences and challenges. She attributes her personal challenges trying "fit-in" and overcoming skin eczema as stepping stones to becoming a more confident and happy teen.
Gerry started in pageants when she competed at the 2017 Miss Florida USA and Miss Florida Teen USA pageant after winning a smaller local. There, she was named a semifinalist and walked away placing in the Top 16.
Gerry then entered the 2017 Miss Freedom USA pageant. There, she was crowned Pre-Teen Miss Freedom USA 2017.
Gerry returned the next year to compete in the 2018 Miss Florida USA and Miss Florida Teen USA pageant. She was once again named a semifinalist and then named to the Top 5. She walked away placing as third runner-up to Miss Florida Teen USA 2018, Lou Schieffelin.
Encouraged by her previous Top 5 placement, Gerry returned to the Miss Florida Teen USA stage for a third time when she registered for the 2019 Miss Florida USA and Miss Florida Teen USA pageant. This time, the crown was hers. Gerry was crowned Miss Florida Teen USA 2019 on January 19, 2019 at the Coral Springs Center for the Arts located in Coral Springs, Florida.
Gerry will go on to compete for the title of Miss Teen USA 2019.
