In early 2019 Kaliegh Garris was crowned Miss Connecticut Teen USA 2019 at her first USA system state pageant.

In mid-2018 Kaliegh Garris was on the MAO State stage competing for the title of Miss Connecticut Outstanding Teen 2018 while representing her preliminary title of Miss New Haven County's Outstanding Teen 2018. Kaleigh placed 4th runner-up for Miss Connecticut Outstanding Teen 2018.

Kaleigh won the title of Miss New Haven County's Outstanding Teen 2018 her first time on a MAO stage.

Kaliegh is currently a High School student, who is attending two different high schools, one for academics and one for theater studies. Kaliegh travels to New York to model, as well as to dance competitively.

Kaliegh's platform People First Language, encouraging people to put names, and personalities before a person disability. Kaliegh's sister has several disabilities and she has seen how those, and her sister's wheelchair changes the way people would look and treat her. Kaliegh has traveled throughout her reigns to several schools, hospital and other volunteer events promoting her platform, and changing the way people see disabilities.

Kaliegh believes that a titleholder should be someone who treats everyone as an equal and be a role model for children growing up in a more diverse world.

On April 28, 2019, Kaliegh won Miss Teen USA 2019!



On May 7, 2019, Garris appeared on CBS with Miss USA 2019 Cheslie Kryst and Miss America 2019 Nia Franklin to talk about the first time the titles of Miss USA, Miss Teen USA and Miss America were held by African American women.
