Craig grew up in Orem, Utah as the oldest of five siblings. She found a love for the arts early on, learning how to play four instruments. Violin is her favorite, however, she can also play the piano, guitar and ukulele.

During high school, Craig found a strange lump on her neck in 2011. After many months of tests, she discovered she was in the early stages of thyroid cancer. She had her thyroid removed. The surgery was successful.

Craig did not let this obstacle slow her down. While in high school Craig also competed in the Miss Utah’s Outstanding Teen Organization. While she never placed or won any special awards, the experience brought her lifelong friends and taught her that competing is about more than winning a crown.

After graduating high school in 2014, Craig attended the University of Utah where she double-majored in English and Economics. While there, she served with student government and various counsels. She also wrote for Her Campus Utah for three years. She graduated cum laude in May of 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Bachelor of Science in Economics.

During her time at the University of Utah, Craig began her journey in the Miss Utah Organization. She won her first local title, Miss Orem, and represented her hometown at Miss Utah 2016. On her first try at the title, Craig won a Preliminary Talent Award for her violin performance, the Miss America Serves Award and the Miracle Maker Award. On the final night of competition, she was named first runner-up.

After an impressive performance, Craig came back for her second try at the Miss Utah crown in 2017 as Miss Greater Salt Lake. She won a Preliminary Swimsuit Award and the Miss America Academic Award. However, Craig fell just short of capturing the title and was named first runner-up for the second year in a row.

More determined than ever to capture her dream title, Craig came back to compete at the 2018 Miss Utah Pageant as Miss Timpanogos. She won her second Preliminary Talent Award and was awarded one of two Glenn Harmon Instrumental Music Awards.

Her third time proved to be the charm for Craig. On June 16th, 2018, she was crowned Miss Utah 2018 at the Janet Quinney Lawson Capitol Theatre located in in Salt Lake City, Utah. She will compete for the title of Miss America 2019 on September 9th, 2018 in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
