Eleanor Abraham was born and raised in New York City. She fell in love with Canada 14 years ago when her family moved to Nova Scotia. Eleanor splits her time between New York and Toronto as she advocates for both marine conservation and domestic violence awareness and prevention.
With a Master’s Degree in International Relations from New York University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Merchandising Management from the Fashion Institute of Technology, Eleanor welcomes change and new opportunities. She courageously switched careers to pursue her dream of becoming a Political Analyst for environmental and social causes. As a Helpline Advocate for domestic violence survivors, Eleanor guides callers through the initial stages of receiving residential housing, legal assistance, and therapeutic pathways to healing. Eleanor understands the barriers survivors face and aspires to create legislative improvements for their journey to independence.
Using her own experience as a survivor, Eleanor founded Loving Hearts, an organization committed to sharing the warning signs of domestic violence to young adults. Loving Hearts holds educational discussions to help our youth gain the knowledge and confidence to identify and avoid potentially dangerous relationships. Loving Hearts is everything Eleanor wishes she learned as a young adult. She believes we often find our purpose hidden within our adversities. She hopes her story inspires others to transform their own adversities into accomplishments.
