Corinna Tsopei was the first woman from Southern Europe and Greece to win the Miss Universe (1964) crown! Corinna remains the only Miss Universe to reign from Greece.
On June 20/1964 Corinna was crowned Miss Star Hallas 1964 while representing ghte Athens area, she was then sent to represent Grece at Miss Universe 1964 in Miami Florida!
Corinna was just 20 years old when she won the Miss Universe crown, she beat out the public favorites which were Miss Israel, Miss Great Britain and Miss Sweden.
In 1964, the same year she won the Miss Universe crown, Corinna immigrated to The United States in 1964 and received her United States citizenship in 1972.
After Miss Universe Corinna went on to have a successful acting career, appearing in a few Hollywood movies such as A Man Called Horse, Daniel Boone, Lost in Space, Valley of the Dolls and A Guide for the Married Man.
Married twice after Miss Universe, her first husband Dr. Steven Zax, a Beverly Hills plastic surgeon, and her second to Freddie Fields, a Hollywood movie producer, whom she stayed married to until his death of Lung Cancer in 2007. Corrina has three children, Andrew, Steven and Paris Zax.
Aside from her acting career, Corinna is the President of an organization that helps at-risk/disadvantaged youth throughout Los Angeles, Share4kids.org.
Corinna has returned several times to the Miss Universe Pageant as a judge!
