Aloha! Originally born in the warm sun of Oahu and now enjoying every moment of northwest mountain life, my name is Cierra Nalani and I’m your 2020 Miss Collegiate United States. I am an only child with a cat named Lucy Lue. At 24 years old, I am a summa cum laude graduate school in Strategic Communications at Liberty University. I have been accepted into my PhD program and will begin 2021. This is especially exciting because I’m the first in my family college student! In fact, because I have been the first in my family in many areas of life, I want to be the light to everyone who thinks they can’t because of their circumstances.
I currently have degrees in art, dance, communication, cultural studies and music. I volunteer with the American Cancer Society (ACS) as a Team Captain and Head of Survivorship for Relay for Life in five cities, the Event Lead of every Relay Recess in Eatonville School District, Event Coordinator and Director of Eatonville’s Bark for Life, Commitee Member for SouthSound Making Strides Against Breast Cancer and I’m a WA State Ambassador Constituent Team Lead for the American Cancer Society’s Cancer Action Network.
Working with ACS to find a cure drives me because I have personally lost many family members and friends to this horrible disease including my elementary best friend, my Nana, my Papa, and two uncles. I’ve also celebrated my Godmother and two aunt’s victories over cancer.
I love to travel. I’ve had the opportunity to study abroad in London as well as Trinidad and Tobago throughout my undergraduate studies. International Junior Miss was my state title followed by USA National Miss. Performance arts have always been my passion so I’m elated to say I’ve competed in local, state, national, and international pageants. It is incredibly exciting and an honor to represent my city, state, and country.
