Ava Tortorici has been crowned Miss New Jersey Teen USA 2019! This was not Ava's first time on the state stage as she placed in the top 20 in both 2016 and 2017. Winning the state title has been a lifelong dream of hers, and she was determined to not give up. Ava is now preparing to represent New Jersey at Miss Teen USA 2019!
Ava is a freshman at Montclair State University double majoring in Biology and Exercise Science, with a 4.1 GPA. Ava is a cheerleader for her university as well as a golfer. Ava’s goal is to complete medical school and become one of the first female Sports Cardiologists in the U.S. and work in the NFL.
In 2015 she founded the non-profit 501(c)(3) charity named “Athletes With Asthma”, a charity which raises awareness for the dangers that athletes with asthma face. Ava is proud of the volunteer and fundraising work she has done in her community, some of the events volunteered at are as follows, Catholic Athletes for Christ, CentraState Hospital, CancerCare, Relay for Life, NJ AIDS Walk, the Jersey Shore’s Clean Ocean Action, and of course Athletes With Asthma.
