My name is Anny Hernandez I am 24 years old. I am originally from Boston Massachusetts I moved to Maryland in July of 2018. I am currently MNATC’s Ms. American Royal.

In August 2017 I finally completed my B.S in Health Administration at Salem State university. With the education I received I was able to created a non profit under the name Learning Nurtured Inc. established October of 2016. My first platform is children’s rights to an education. The goal of the non profit is to give children in Honduras a chance to receive an education regardless of their socioeconomic background. We provide things like school supplies backpacks and uniforms to, home based support like clean water projects.

My second and just as important platform is Women Veterans. To give you a picture Women make up about 17% of the military. Service members make about 1% of the us population at any given time. Women in the military have a lot of walls to push through and lack representation. I felt that as a military woman my self I had to represent my peers in a positive way. I got sick about a year ago and recently got out of the military. I became a disabled veteran and started receiving care in October of 2018 I was lucky. Many veterans, deployed veterans and combat veterans have to wait many years to get the care they deserve.

Both of my platforms came about from life experiences. I’ve had the opportunity to gain knowledge and experience to now bring light and support to these two very different and amazing groups of people. Doing pageants has giving me the voice I need to step out and represent my organization, the children, and women who like myself have preserved through adversity.

Why start competing in pageants

I started competing in pageants as a way of transition from combat boots and ABUs to heels and sparkly dresses. I wanted to represent women like my self who served and struggled after military service.
