David is originally from Washington, District of Columbia. She moved to Maryland as a child, where she attended the Academy of the Holy Cross located in Kensington, Maryland. There, she was involved in campus ministry, choir, dance, theatre, improve and was a member of the dive team.
Growing up, David was also a competitive cheerleader. She competed for over 13 years, finishing her career with the Maryland Twisters F5. The team won the gold medal at the USASF/IASF Cheerleading World Championships in 2011. Afterwards, David was voted American Cheerleader Magazine's 2011 Cheerleader of the Year, launching her modeling career.
The following year, in 2012, the team proudly took home the silver at the competition. David started choreographing nationwide with Twisted Spirit Brands.
After graduating from high school, David spent her first two years of college at the University of Alabama with hopes of joining the school's cheerleading team and becoming a NCAA Division I Cheerleader. However, David suffered from an elbow injury, ultimately ending her cheering career.
Following her two years in Alabama, David moved to Los Angeles, California to follow her life’s passion, performing. Shortly after, she transferred to the University of Maryland, where she recently graduated with two Bachelors of Arts degrees. She received one in Theatre from the School of Theatre, Dance and Performance Studies as well as a one in Communication Studies from the Department of Communication.
With cheerleading off the table, David’s modeling and performing experience inspired her to compete in pageants. Her first pageant was Miss Maryland USA 2016 where she placed as second runner-up. She came back and competed again the next year, winning the title of Miss Maryland USA 2017.
David went on to experience her first national pageant, Miss USA 2017. While she did not make the Finals, she was even more in love with the pageant world.
David decided to try her hand at the Miss America crown after giving up her title as Miss Maryland USA 2017. She won the title of Miss Charm of the Chesapeake and tried for her first time at the Miss Maryland crown. During the preliminary competition, David won a Preliminary Swimsuit Award.
David made history on Saturday, June 23, 2018 when she was crowned Miss Maryland 2018 at The Maryland Theatre located in Hagerstown, Maryland. She is the third woman to win both the Miss Maryland America and Miss Maryland USA titles and the first to do it back-to-back.
She will competed for the title of Miss America 2019 on September 9, 2018 in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
