Miss Global International

Miss Global International Motto is “ UNITING THE WORLD THROUGH BEAUTY AND TOURISM” Pursuant to accomplishing it’s mission – The Miss Global International Beauty Pageant (MGI) attracts ladies from across the globe whose intelligence, poise, awareness, personalities and drive helped to boost our tourism industry in particular and our economy in general. They are given a tour of the island mostly focusing on the various tourist attractions and taken on courtesy calls to the Governor General,Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism and various heads of Government of Jamaica during their five day stay along with grooming, rehearsals, talent show etc.,

Miss Global International is becoming one of the most recognized pageants throughout the local and International community. It is a positive pageant and by association our partners help to spread the feeling of good will and help boost Tourism in the respective countries.After staging the pageant in Jamaica for the past ten years Mr. Ramchandani has decided to move to other countries. The pageant moved overseas in 2008 to the UK where Trinidad won, 2015 to Trinidad & Tobago and Australia won and also in 2016 to the Dominican Republic where Brazil cop the title which was a tremendous opportunity to sell brand Jamaica and create more awareness for the international pageant. We also have Queens from Zimbabwe, United Kingdom, Singapore, Martinique, Canada etc and our reigning queen is from Guyana. The show was brought back to Jamaica in 2017 and was hosted at Hotel RIU.

The pageant has always been endorsed by Jamaica Tourist Board, Governor General , Prime Minister and community leaders of Jamaica . Each year the contestants donate a gift item from their country which is auctioned for charity and this year the Jamaica Association for the Deaf will benefit from part proceeds from both pageants, Miss Global Jamaica and Miss Global International.

The local leg of the pageant is held annually and this year will be held at the Courtleigh Auditorium on June 29th. The winner get to participate in the international leg which will be held at the Montego Bay Convention Centre on September 28th.2019

The pageant has been hosted by Lachu Ramchandani O.D. J.P. over the years and for the past three (3) years he has handed over the reigns to his daughter Neelam Ramchandani who is now the Director of Miss Global Jamaica and Vice President of Miss Global International. Mr. Ramchandani is extremely proud of her as she has made great strides with the pageant. She has used her expertise and knowledge to take the pageant to a much higher level both locally and internationally. This year show will be aired live on local television and streamed worldwide so stay tuned to witness an awesome event .

The Miss Global International Pageant began in 2004 as Miss Commonwealth and was later changed to reflect the interest expressed by non-Commonwealth countries to compete. Since then, it is the first and only international beauty pageant to be hosted in Jamaica. In fact, the event has been staged over the years without a hiatus.

One of the remarkable things about pageants is the gratitude shown by the contestants for the opportunity and experience which has transformed at times nervous contestants into confident, poised young ladies, that move on to become leaders in their communities. We offer grooming lessons and tours of various tourist attractions and even courtesy calls with various leaders of government and business. Since its inception, we have hosted shows at the Jamaica Pegasus, Grand Palladium, Sunset Beach Resort & Spa, Hotel RIU & the Montego Bay Convention Centre and have produced several queens from all over the world such as; Zimbabwe, Trinidad, Bahamas, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, England, Singapore , Martinique, Australia, Brazil and currently Guyana

There is always an auction and proceeds goes towards a charitable organization. Mr. Ramchandani wishes to contribute maximum and his aim is to boost tourism by bringing at least 1,000 visitors to the island by bringing 50 contestants from all over the World to participate in this historic event 2014 marks our 10th staging and we are looking ahead to have a special event to mark this milestone anniversary. We are proud to announce that our history-making 10th anniversary pageant was held at the prestigious RIU Resort in beautiful Montego Bay, Jamaica. The 11th Edition was held in the beautiful twin Republic of Trinidad & Tobago 2015 followed by Dominican Republic and brought back to Jamaica. This year show will be held on September 28th at Montego Bay Convention Centre.
