About Miss Earth Indonesia

Miss Earth Indonesia is a national beauty pageant held in Indonesia. The winner of the beauty pageant represents her country in the Miss Earth International pageant. Miss Earth is among the ‘big four’ international beauty pageants, along with Miss Universe, Miss World, and Miss International.

This annual international beauty pageant promotes environmental awareness and supports various environmental causes. The beauty pageant is organized by the Yayasan Puteri Indonesia Foundation, which holds the Miss Indonesia pageant.

Miss Earth Indonesia is a platform for Indonesian women to showcase their physical beauty, talent, intelligence, and knowledge. They are also expected to advocate for positive changes.

History of Miss Earth Indonesia



The first Miss Earth Indonesia pageant was held in 2007 and has been held annually since then. It took place on September 8 at the Jakarta Convention Center.
The winner was Artri Aldoranti Sulistyowati, who represented her country in the Miss Earth pageant held on November 12 at the University of the Philippines Theater.
Since then, plenty of beautiful and intelligent women have competed for the title. The slogan of the Miss Earth Indonesia beauty pageant is ‘Beauty and Nature.’ The pageant focuses on environmental awareness and ecotourism.

In 2008, the Miss Earth Indonesia Foundation launched the first Miss Earth Eco-Fashion Design Competition. The event required the designers to come up with eco-friendly designs. The Miss Earth Indonesia Foundation works with the World Wildlife Foundation and other environmental departments and sectors. The Miss Earth title holder also becomes the spokesperson for the foundation, UNEP, and other organizations.
In 2013, the national pageant was acquired by El John Pageants. The pageant became an annual environmental-themed event. In 2022, El John Pageants lost the license of Miss Earth to PT Mahakarya Duta Pesona Indonesia.

Miss Earth Indonesia Competition



The Miss Earth Indonesia contestants compete in several different categories, such as talent, swimsuit, and evening gown competitions. They undergo training and education about environmental issues.
The pageant places a strong emphasis on environmental causes. The contestants must have great public speaking skills and are expected to participate in environmental initiatives and promote awareness.
The organization also has a ‘beauty for a cause’ program. It is designed to encourage contestants to undertake environmental projects and activities that benefit their communities.

Who Can Participate in the Miss Earth Indonesia Beauty Pageant?



To participate in the beauty pageant, you have to be a female Indonesian citizen between 18 and 26 years old. You must have at least a high school education and have never been married or had children.
Another criterion is to have a minimum height of 5 feet 6 inches (168cm). Other requirements for the contestants are to possess a good moral character and good communication skills in English.
As a contestant of Miss Earth Indonesia, you have to be passionate about the cause and be able to articulate your views regarding environmental issues.
The application process requires submitting an application form and photographs and participating in the selection process, which includes interviews.
