Pageant System Rules : By placing a deposit you agree that you have read and agree to the following rules
1) Good Sportsmanship is required. Please treat others as you would like to be treated. Pageants are a great confidence builder for children. So is great sportsmanship skills. 2) ALL deposits are NON REFUNDABLE. 3) Judges decisions are FINAL. Judges are always available to speak with after crowning to get their full feedback. We always encourage parents to do so. 4) Contestants must compete in their age group as of January 13, 2018 . Director reserves right to combine age divisions if needed for beauty, talent or any optional based on numbers of contestants. .5) Contestants information of who are or who are not competing will not be released. 7) Promotional photos of Miss Broadway Lights winners will be for the sole use of Miss Broadway Lights Pageants. 8) All cash awards amounts will be determined by number of entries for that pageant. Please see individual pageant for more information. ( All ties are broken by higest optional. In some events we allow our Judges to also use + marks. If casual wear is a tie, we may use + marks to determine winner. 8) Pageant reserves the right to refuse entry to anyone found in poor sportsmanship to pageant staff and contestants and their families & will forfeit their entry fee 9.) We will not extend credit to anyone. Please do not ask. Pageant will not refund or reimburse any pageant expenses for any reason. If you are unable to compete due to emergency reasons you will be credited half for next years pageant. 10..) Lateness- we will NOT wait for contestants. (1 point will be deducted from each judge automatically if you miss your place in age group competition. 11.) WE DO NOT HAVE A CLOTHING RESTRICTION- Contestants can and should wear what makes them feel best. This is a Beauty Pageant. Beauty / evening wear will be scored on Facial Beauty, Overall appearance, stage presence.
12.) Restrictions: NO FALSE TEETH, NO HAIR PIECES ( unless medically necessary), NO false eye lashes for ages 16 and under. 13.) Current titleholders can compete the following year if they have moved up in age division- this includes overall high point winners.
AREAS OF COMPETITION:
EVENING WEAR- (Mandatory) A FORMAL DRESS- AGE APPROPRIATE-Most contestants wear long dresses for this- can be whatever contestant feels good in- appearance and overall look of dress on contestant will be judged. 60 sec time limit max
INTERVIEW- ( Mandatory )contestants will meet with panel of judges for approximately 3 minutes per each contestant. Contestants should wear a nice dress or suit- choice is yours.
BROADWAY CHARACTER WEAR- (Mandatory) YOU present your version of your favorite Broadway or musical character- 90 sec limit- you provide your own music.
CASUAL WEAR- (Optional) also known as modeling- cute/trendy outfit/something one might wear on first day of school- 60 sec time limit max
TALENT- (optional) 2:30 min time limit max: NO PIANO AVAILABLE-
PHOTOGENIC- (optional)Photo will judged on overall appearance of contestant and quality of photo -can be 5x7 or 8x10
HIGH POINT Winner is based on Highest Score in each category (talent, interview etc.) and Overall Highpoint is Beauty plus 2 additional highest scores (excluding Photogenic)....
PORTFOLIO- (optional) 10-15 pictures in a book (these photos must be in a book not individuals)
COMMUNITY SERVICE- (optional) A one page essay written about your volunteer experience and why volunteering is important to you. Can include photos and thank you cards.
