About Miss Black Tennessee

Miss Black Tennessee is Tennessee’s official preliminary pageant to the Miss Black America national pageant. Each year, winners are chosen to represent the state of Tennessee at the Miss Black America pageant. They also receive the opportunity to represent the Miss Black America system throughout their home states for the duration of their reign as well as a prize package selected by the Miss Black Tennessee directors.

All contestants for Miss Black Tennessee must participate in four areas of competition: private panel interview with the judges, swimsuit, evening gown and onstage question. Women who live in Tennessee and who are older than 17 years of age and younger than 28 years of age are eligible to compete in Miss Black Tennessee. Additionally, contestants must never have been married or given birth to a child.
