About Miss Black Louisiana U.S

The Miss Black Louisiana US Organization was founded in 2000. The first Miss Black Louisiana US was crowned on December 8, 2001. This pageant organization was designed to provide educational scholarship opportunities for young women of all ages and diverse cultures in the state of Louisiana. African-American women were not allowed to participate in pageants for years. The first African-American to grace the Miss America stage was in 1970. Our organization is dedicated to supporting education, encouraging community service and providing a forum for young African American women to express their talents, intelligence and opinions on issues facing our world today. The Miss Black Louisiana US organization does not discriminate against any race. Any race is welcomed to participate in the pageant. The pageant is open to ANY young lady who wants to represent the title of Miss Black Louisiana US.

As a potential contestant, you must meet the following criteria and adhere to the rules and regulations of this pageant system:

You must be born female
You must be or have been a resident of Louisiana for at least 6 months or attending school in Louisiana or working in Louisiana
You must be willing to take on the job responsibilities of the title in which you are seeking.

Miss Black Louisiana U.S. has a division for you!! Age divisions are as follows:

Baby Division - Ages 0-3

Petite Division - Ages 4 to 6

Tiny Division - Ages 7 to 9

Little Division - Ages 10 to 12

Teen Division - Ages 13 to 17

Miss Division - Ages 18 to 28

Mrs. Division - Any Age (Married)

COMPETITION REQUIREMENTS



During the pageant, each contestant will compete in the following phases of competition: Personal Interview, Physical Fitness, Casual Wear, Evening Gown and On-Stage Question.

Opening Number: Flashy Top and Jeans



Personal Interview: Each contestant will participate in a private panel style interview with the judges. Contestants attire is business casual (no jeans). Remember first impressions are lasting.



Casual Wear: Contestant can choose the outfit of her choice. Keep in mind your audience and the judges. Your overall appearance in your casual wear will be judged.



Physical Fitness: Miss contestants may choose either a one piece or two-piece swimsuit. Wraps are not allowed and we ask that each contestant choose their swimsuit in the best of taste. (No thongs allowed) Shoes are worn during this phase of competition. Teen and Mrs. contestants will wear aerobic wear.



Evening Gown: Contestants can choose an evening gown of her choice. Each contestant will be judged on how well the gown fits, the contestants overall appearance, her self-confidence, and her poise.
