About Caring Queens

About Caring Queens: Empowering Through Pageantry

Caring Queens is more than just a pageant organization; it's a powerful platform for empowering young girls in foster care. Our mission is to provide these girls with the skills, confidence, and support they need to navigate life's challenges with grace and resilience. Through our program, we aim to transform lives and create a sisterhood of queens who uplift and inspire one another.

A Journey of Transformation

Over five weeks of intensive rehearsals, the Caring Queens team, including Starla Harris Joslin, Sheila Fowler Harris, Melody Angeline Kloss, and Salina Ramirez, has witnessed an incredible transformation in these young ladies. They've not only honed their poise and confidence but have also developed the crucial skill of public speaking. More importantly, they've become part of a sisterhood of queens who understand the power of support and mentorship.

Inspiration and Mentorship

Caring Queens doesn't stop at the pageant stage. We believe in paying it forward, and that's why we bring in over a dozen beauty queens from various backgrounds to mentor and inspire these girls. Through their stories and guidance, many of our young participants have been motivated to pursue competitive pageants in their local areas.

Gratitude and Acknowledgment

None of this would be possible without the generous support of individuals and organizations who believe in our mission. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Valerie Campbell, Patti Lucio-Hall, Blair Kudelka, Mi McKeown (Mila), Wendy Ragdoll Quick, Somer Quick, Paige Kathryn Sims-Baldwin, and many others for their gracious contributions and mentorship.

We'd also like to express our gratitude to Luane Naiser from Majestic Sashes for providing the beautiful sashes that our queens proudly wear. Special thanks to Stars L Willia and Lizette Marie Lugo for the thoughtful gifts that brightened our girls' days.

Lastly, we'd like to acknowledge the Downtown Rotary Club and all our sponsors who have made this program possible. Your support is invaluable in our mission to empower these young girls.

If we've inadvertently missed mentioning anyone, please accept our apologies and know that your contributions are deeply appreciated. Together, we're making a difference in the lives of these remarkable young women.
