I dont like giving bad reviews when it comes to new directors, because you have to start somewhere.. So I did 2 crowns for everything and would like to leave a few suggestions. I think ppls choice division winners should receive the same awards as overall (crown, sash & appearance) It was very unsanitary to have small children around feces. I dont like giving bad reviews when it comes to new directors, because you have to start somewhere.. So I did 2 crowns for everything and would like to leave a few suggestions. I think ppls choice division winners should receive the same awards as overall (crown, sash & appearance) It was very unsanitary to have small children around feces. We have competed in several pageants and I have waited much longer for pageants, but waiting in feces is a completely different experience. I know some children grow up in that environment, but you also have children that have not, and I notice a lot of upset disgusted parents. If you have tie between 2-3 kids, only those 2-3kids should be brought back out, instead of the whole division, especially considering the circumstances ( hot sun, feces, babies and toddlers) Also i notice none of the judges ever looked up, after bringing the entire division back out. So it seem kind of pointless. This last part could be completely wrong about, and if so I apologize. But it sounds like all the winners from day before were the judges and they just chose girls they are already familiar with, winners and runnerup from previous yrs not giving new comers any consideration. Maybe using the winners from the day before to judge is not the best idea. I just wanted to reach out in regards to the pageant. It was by far the most unprofessional way of doing things. When the rules stated that you couldn’t be in any other pageants at the same time as the PWC fair. There were a few of them. Also No score sheets were offered or made available and for the money that was raised for peoples choice it shouldn’t have been out for everyone to be able to see multiple people standing around seeing what people are giving making competition. The pageant started 15-20 minutes late but they communicated to us through the wait. In the backstage area we had to line up and one of the directors named Tristen was helping us all and tried to keep order. She was firm as needed about lining up so we could get going even though parents were asking her a million questions , most that didn’t need answers. Unlike another reviewer said, she was very professional, helpful, knowledgeable and kept order and her cool while being what I guess in her early 20’s. The location change is on the fairgrounds itself not these ladies since the fair double booked the show barn. This was obvious and told to my husband by the 4H group in the original location. The other director, Allyson responded timely to multiple emails with questions that I had, and sent us all a TON of information to help us prepare and did a People’s Choice for us. My husband and I could tell they cared. This is the third year we have participated and the best year yet in terms of communication, planning and helpfulness. We will be back!Show less

I wanted to share some concerns regarding the recent event, as I feel there were several organizational issues that impacted the overall experience: • All six divisions were lined up at once in a very small outdoor area, making it extremely crowded and stressful—especially for families with young children. • The area was not properly cleaned; there was animal waste throughout, which made it unsafe and unpleasant for children to walk around. • Animals in the back appeared agitated and were trying to get at strollers, which created a safety concern. • There were ties in multiple divisions, but there didn’t seem to be a clear or fair way to manage this, and it added to the confusion. • Parents with children in different divisions were put under unnecessary stress due to the lack of organization and flexibility. One individual representing “Miss VA Beach” in the back was particularly unsympathetic and rude to parents managing more than one child. • Crowning for all divisions was done at once, again in the same cramped space, making it chaotic and overwhelming for participants and families. Overall, the event felt rushed, unorganized, and inconsiderate of the needs of both participants and parents. I hope future events will be better planned with clear scheduling, more space, proper sanitation, and staff who are trained to be helpful and understanding. Lack of Consideration for Young Children: This age group is extremely young, and the event did not accommodate their needs. Participants were kept waiting for extended periods, during nap times, in cramped spaces. Expecting toddlers and small children to remain calm, patient, and in one area for long periods is unrealistic and stressful for both the children and their families. • Unclear Structure and Delays: Although we were told to arrive at a specific time, the event was delayed by over 30 minutes to wait for missing contestants. This lack of punctuality affected everyone, especially young kids who were already restless. Unfair Judging Practices: Perhaps most concerning, the event used newly crowned winners as judges. This raises serious questions about fairness and impartiality. No score sheets were offered or made available, which is highly unusual and unprofessional. We’ve participated in many fair and well-run pageants, and this did not meet the standards we’ve come to expect. • Lack of Organization Per Division: Each division should have been allowed to come out separately and be crowned in a calm, focused manner. Combining everything into one chaotic lineup made it incredibly difficult for children, parents, and even staff.Show less
