How is it that nearly every state queen and national queen and top finishers are from Houston and long time friends with the director? The results are simply statistically improbable. Also, how about selecting judges and tabulator that aren't besties of the director and an independent tabulator? How is it that nearly every state queen and national queen and top finishers are from Houston and long time friends with the director? The results are simply statistically improbable. Also, how about selecting judges and tabulator that aren't besties of the director and an independent tabulator? I understand in your first year you might appoint friends daughter's as queens to get started but this pageant is well beyond that already in its second year and should be aiming for a widespread range of results so they can grow. At the preliminary level, girls traveled from prelim to prelim until they finally titled. Only to get to the state level and find out they never had a chance. Its just really heartbreaking to see girls work hard and not have a chance because all the titles will be assigned to girls from the Houston area. The production overall was well planned and produced. There is just a lot of flakiness in the results. Which leaves me very disappointed.Show less

This pageant system is one of the most organized and fair systems out there. Even though it is newer, they always have an amazing production that is run smoothly and on time. Every girl I've met through NEP has been so amazing and invested in her community. The director is super helpful and will answer any and all questions openly. She always provides amazing opportunities for her titleholders to get out in their community, get involved and meet new people/network. I love that NEP encourages community service and wants their titleholders to make a difference instead of letting their crowns just sit on a shelf.
