It is the sixth Miss Universe New Zealand held under the current management, and the sixth that does away with a live swimwear parade, a move that we notice has been followed by at least one other pageant abroad. Miss Universe itself is about diversity and tolerance, and any requirements about body shape, body art and size are happily absent from our entry requirements.
To enter this competition you must be female, a New Zealand citizen, lived here as your permanent and primary residence, and that you intend to make New Zealand your permanent home for at least six months before the final. (You can have attended college or university elsewhere during part or all of that period.) You must be at least 18 and under 28 as of January 1, 2019 (that means your birthday is between January 2, 1991 and January 1, 2001). And, you must not have been married or have given birth to a child.
This is the first part of your journey. It's great to have you on board!
