My name is Valontay Linzy, I am 17 years old and I attend Insight School of Oklahoma. I had an amazing opportunity to attend Oklahoma’s 2019 National American Miss State Pageant. In which I can say I made friends, had many opportunities to build confidence, and I learned some new life skills for example how to prepare & present myself for any interview opportunities I am given. With this being said NAM is a positive path of pageantry I would suggest any woman or young girl in America to follow.
This years state pageant was the first pageant I ever participated in. I always wanted to be in pageants just like I seen the other girls on tv, but once I really gained knowledge I was more inspired in the fact that you can make a difference in the world through pageantry. You accomplish such goals by helping the world and your community by making it a better place throughout your platform. although it took a lot of time, hard work, and dedication to get to where I am today. Life hasn’t been easy but god has taught me to overcome storms and I have managed to overcome.
I was blessed in receiving top 10 Finalist, Best Thank You Note of Oklahoma, & 2nd Runner-up in Heart of Service. I am now committing my time to volunteering, hosting events, & promoting my platform in preparation for nationals in November 2019. I also plan to compete in July 2020. I would like to be Miss America One Day.
