My name is Trinity Denton and I am the 2017 International Junior Miss Idaho Teen. I am 17 years old and hail from the capital city of Idaho, Boise known affectionately as the City of Trees.
I am going into my senior year at Borah High School where I am a varsity basketball player and member of my school's Student Congress and am planning to attend Boise State University as a Nursing major. I am the oldest of five in my family.
I have always been a very shy introvert and that shyness has always held me back from doing the things I wanted to do. Pageants, community service, and being out interacting with people has literally changed my life. I still struggle with shyness sometimes, but I have now been at countless community events doing everything from mingling, to volunteering to delivering whole keynote speeches! Before pageants, this wasn't even an option for me because my mental obstacles prevented me from taking those opportunities for growth.
I also wanted to do pageants in order to support a cause I love that has now become my platform. I now advocate for shelter animal adoption and animal welfare through community partnerships with rescue organizations, my local zoo, the Humane Society, the ASPCA and more! Being involved in something I am so passionate about has been a blessing to me in my journey. Pageants have opened so many doors for me personally, I think every girl should experience their own growth using pageants as a platform.
