Tarissa is 12 3/4 years old. She is the only girl and has four brothers. She loves dance, singing and jumping on her trampoline. She was five years old when she started doing pageants as a way to help build her self esteem and help teach her to reach out and make a difference in our community. Her first out reach program was Blankets and Jackets for the homeless and community service has become an important part of her life. Being born early and a twin left Tarissa with many on going health issue but has played a huge role in teaching Tarissa that there are a lot of kids who struggle everyday just to live. It's been amazing to be able to pay it forward now and help raise money to meet the needs of the of kids and their families who are blessed to be able to receive Care at Nationwide Children's Hospital . Helping to make a difference is one of the most important things she does. Tarissa hope to be a good example to those around her and this past year with the help of her mom and pageant coach she started Spirit of Charity Pageant. All of the money and items that are raised or donated go to the Behavioral Health floor where they service kids who have attempted or are thinking about suicide. The items donated to C5A are uses as coping tools for the kids to help them work through their problems. Tarissa's platform has always been about anti bulling and being proud of who you are but last year with the start of the Charity pageant she quickly adopted a new motto "Be proud of who you are let your voice be heard and Choose Life". This is the message Tarissa hopes to carry thought out her year as your 2017 ARB National Preteen.
