In 2018, Tara Jensen placed 1st Runner-up to the Miss World Denmark 2018 title. After the winner Louise Sander Henriksen resigned due to an inability to compete in the Miss World competition, Jensen ascended to the title of Miss World Denmark 2018. With this new title, she gained the opportunity to represent Denmark at the Miss World 2018 competition on December 8, 2019 in China. She went unplaced at the international pageant.



Jensen was later dethroned by the Miss World Denmark Organization for behaving, "completely in violation of the conditions that apply to Miss Denmark and Miss World..." Jensen denied any wrongdoing and was surprised at the announcement.
