Sarah Lopez is an avid traveler who has visited fourteen foreign countries and twenty-three states, including a semester abroad in Qatar and two peacebuilding fieldwork trips to Liberia. She is also trilingual in Spanish, English, and Arabic. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in geography from Salem State University and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Mount Holyoke College. Inspired by her passion for geography, Sarah taught middle school social studies for five years and established two school National Geography Bees. A former mentor for the Intercultural Leadership Program at Salem State University and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Franklin County, Sarah now mentors students as a College Access Advisor for the GEAR UP partnership grant between Mount Wachusett Community College and the Fitchburg Public Schools. Sarah was born and raised in Haverhill, MA, and currently resides in Orange, MA with her cat, Kashi.
