My name is Payton Ashby, and I am Mrs. Duchesne County. I love my career as a teacher and being a volleyball coach, but my husband is my number one priority. He is a trooper for the Utah Highway Patrol, so this lead to my passion for K9 officers. In the last 8 years, 4 of the 5 fallen Utah K9 officers have died due to gunfire in the line of duty. I founded Operation K9 to stop this from happening to such dedicated public servants like these wonderful K9s.
I was able to represent this wonderful cause when I competed for the title of Mrs. Utah America in March of 2018. This was my very first pageant, and I was humbled to walk away with the awards of Best in Evening Gown, Best Smile, the Director's Award, and I was the second runner-up.
It was a wonderful experience, and I am looking forward to growing Operation K9 and continuing to represent them as I compete again for Mrs. Utah America in the coming years.
