Haitian-American actress Nicolette Stephanie Templier, hails from Little Haiti Brooklyn, New York. She wears multiple hats including singer, songwriter, creative director, and entrepreneur! Now, she is Miss Brooklyn Earth USA 2018 (soon to be Miss King’s County Earth USA 2019 as she competes for the state title of Miss New York Earth USA 2019).
Growing up in a single-parent immigrant home brought about its fair share of setbacks, but I was taught to use my imagination, be resourceful and to be resilient. I grew to deeply value and appreciate both my heritage and my parents sacrifice to provide another life for my siblings and myself. Through pageants, I aim to use my platform to encourage others to do the same. Philanthropy and disaster relief came into my life after the 2010 earthquake in Haiti. I had only just been there two weeks prior so the devastation hit more than close to home. Partnering with Doctors Without Borders, I spearheaded a donation operation to get emergency supplies directly to the hands of those who needed it the most. Later on, I volunteered in New Orleans at a post-Katrina shelter and in Joplin, Missouri after one of their most devastating tornadoes.
As a local title holder, Miss Brooklyn Earth USA 2018, she joined forces with many local eco-conscious groups to educate her community about sustainable living and protecting the environment from city pollution. She has even had the opportunity to visit the United Nations multiple times in the last year for events and conferences in support of sustainable development. As Miss New York Earth 2019, she would continue these relationships and use her platform to attract more awareness to the Miss Earth Organization and the environmental protection responsibility we all share.
