Narine Ishhanov holds the title of Miss Utah USA 2018 and proudly represented her state and heritage at the Miss USA 2018 pageant.
The Armenian-American pageant contestant was born in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan and moved to the United States at the age of 11. She then became a legal citizen of the United States just three days before her 18th birthday. Ishhanov was proud to represent legal immigrants at the national pageant.
In an interview with The Salt Lake Tribune, she said, "My view on this is we live in America, and I want to represent everyone who wants to follow the law and all the rules in becoming citizens of the United States — just like my parents."
Now she lives in Salt Lake City, Utah as a recent graduate from the University of Utah. She is currently applying for dental schools and in hopes of becoming a dentist like her great grandfather was. Ishhanov is also an ambassador for Utah's STEM Action Center where she inspires children to pursue careers in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math.
Ishhanov proved her motivation and drive through the Miss Utah USA pageant system. She has competed in the pageant every year from 2015-2018. She has achieved the placements of Semi-Finalist, 2nd Runner-Up (twice) and 1st Runner-Up before she was finally crowned Miss Utah USA in 2018.
