Miranda Obeid is a recent high school graduate of Cardinal Carter Catholic Secondary School who was born and raised in the multiculturally rich town of Leamington, Ontario. Miranda comes from a big, loving Lebanese family who take pride in each other, in their traditions, and in their faith. She is looking forward to starting her first year at the University of Windsor and will be working towards achieving a Bachelor of Social Work. Miranda believes in the intrinsic worth of people and she embraces the core values and principles of social work. It is through pursuing an education in this field that she hopes to be an advocate for vulnerable populations while assisting individuals who are struggling in healing and moving forward.
Miranda is strong willed and is a firm believer in rising above life’s challenges. Many young women in high school face challenges every day with confidence, bullying, and figuring out who they truly are. Miranda was no stranger to these challenges and she hopes through her participation in the Miss Universe Canada pageant she will inspire other young women to push past the opposition and negativity and instead, rely on their own inner strength and confidence to guide them to success.
Miranda is very passionate about the importance of an active and balanced lifestyle. She played on a travel soccer team for over 5 years and loved the competitive and energetic environment. Being a part of a team taught her the importance of hard work, dedication, and learning how to communicate with different personalities and age groups. She has also volunteered in local fundraisers and loves being part of a team with the simple goal of helping others. Miranda is excited at the prospect of being part of the Miss Universe Canada team. Miranda is the oldest of four girls in her family and as a young participant in the pageant, she is excited at the prospect of sharing experiences, beauty tips, and heart to hearts with her fellow Miss Universe companions.
