Miss Black Hawaii US Ambassador 2015 is Lia Jamerson!
Lia Jamerson is Miss Black Hawaii US Ambassador. Although she is Michigan born and raised, Lia has spent the past 6 years living on the island of Oahu. Lia is a Hawaii Pacific University alumna. She received her BA in Psychology with a minor in Chemistry in 2012; as well as a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2014 from HPU. She aspires to open a private practice and work as a licensed child and family therapist, with certification in clinical mental health counseling. Lia is a runway/print model signed with Wilhelmina Hawaii; and also the proud owner of LJ Interior Designs. Lia is a Crash Survivor Advocate, who utilizes her platform to spread awareness about auto and highway safety. She has done much volunteer work for many organizations, including Georgian Bloomfield Nursing Home, Beaumont Hospital, IHS Women's Shelter, American Cancer Society (Making Strides Against Breast Cancer and Relay for Life), Beaumont Hospital, Make-A-Wish Foundation Hawaii, Queens Medical Center, Shriners Hospitals for Children Honolulu, Harris Preschool and the Detroit Medical Center. In her free time, Lia enjoys reading, playing the piano, painting, swimming, hiking, stand up paddle boarding, going to the movies, and traveling.
