Kayla Toure, 14 years old, born and raise in Brooklyn, New York. She is a freshman in high school, who hopes to purse a master degree in Theatre Arts at The Juilliard School. In addition to her love of acting, she is a varsity swimmer and cheerleader. Kayla is an firm believer in spreading hospitality, and has even created her own non profit organization called Kindness With Kayla. As a result of Kindness With Kayla, she has traveled to over 10 states organizing fundraisers, classroom visits, and much more. Kayla hopes in the future to travel the world inspiring and motivating teens about the positive effects of kindness.
Currently, she is the reigning USA National Miss New York Junior Teen. As the Miss New York Junior Teen, Kayla will continue to use her crown and banner to promote her platform and UNM’s national platform: The Crown C.A.R.E.S. by speaking out to others about her personal bullying story and statistics. She will influence and inspire many and show them the positive effects of volunteering, being cautious of what you say, being yourself, and working hard.
She has competed in serval pageants, and as a result she has been awarded with serval optional awards, scholarships, and state titles
Furthermore, Kayla will also be competing for the title of USA National Junior Teen at Orlando, Florida in the beginning of July.
Kayla thanks pageantry for all the doors it has opened and all the forever lasting friendships she has gained. Pageants have taught her to always be herself, to always chase her dreams, and to never give up. It has also transformed Kayla into the strong,charismatic, and intelligent young woman she is today.
