I am 20 years old and a sophomore on the Dean's List at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where I pursue a double major in Animal Sciences and Environmental Studies with a Pre-Veterinary Medicine emphasis.
My avid volunteering with local animal shelters and humane societies, especially Madison Cat Project, led me to found my own nonprofit, Jillian's Joy. Jillian's Joy Corporation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to supporting animal rescues and giving those furry friends a second chance at life.
Pageantry is my passion and through it I have been given numerous opportunities to create long-lasting relationships. One of those relationships is through the Wisconsin Miss Amazing organization where I am the Queen Coordinator. This position allows me to share the joys of being a state representative with these young women while also showing them how much responsibility comes with a crown and sash. It is incredible to see how life-changing this organization is and to personally have an impact on these woman's lives through my position on the committee.
Through my involvement with USA National Miss and the Crown CARES organization, I have started my own campaign, #KindnessMatters. Here I share everything from ideas on how you can be kind in your own community to inspirational quotes and everything in between. Since starting this campaign, I have a new-found appreciation for life and the "little things".
In my free time I enjoy running long distance, I often use that passion to do good in my community by competing in various charity races. In the past 6 months I have helped raise over $170,000 by running over 30 miles at events that benefitted organizations such as Make-A-Wish, American Heart Association and Mission 22.
