Jane Teoh was born in Bayan Lepas, Penang. Teoh was crowned Miss Universe Malaysia 2018 and will compete for the ultimate Miss Universe 2018 crown in Bangkok, Thailand on December 17, 2018. Teoh has been competing in pageants since 2016. Her first competition was the Face of Beauty Malaysia 2016, which was held in Penang. Teoh was crowned the winner and went on to represent Malaysia at the Face of Beauty International 2016 competition. Teoh was not crowned the ultimate winner but placed among the top 10 finalists. Teoh did not compete again until the Miss Universe Malaysia 2018 competition which she was crowned as winner by the outgoing titleholder, Samantha Katie James.

In addition to competing in pageantry, Teoh has worked as a fashion model and walked for shows which include the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Kuala Lumpur. Teoh has also walked shows during the Penang Fashion Week 2018, and for the Sakura Collection 2018 in Japan.
Lastly, Teoh is a current student and speaks at various universities about the need to combat bullying. Most recently, Teoh hosted a talk on cyber bullying at HELP University. Teoh states that one of her main driving forces is the desire to "give a voice to the voiceless."
