Amazing leaders making a difference in my community encouraged me to open my mind to entering pageantry because they knew that my dream of normalizing conversations surrounding mental health and making suicide prevention a community priority throughout the world could become a reality through the amazing opportunities pageantry provides. I have found that the pageantry journey has not only opened doors to make a real impact in these areas, but it has also helped me believe in my own unique gifts. Seeing so many incredible women believing in their message as they have encouraged me to pursue mine is incredible. As a married mother of mostly grown kids, I had never really known the great things that women in pageantry do on behalf of others, to better their communities, or to become better versions of themselves. Once I learned that it was about much more than pretty dresses and beautiful hair, I was hooked.
I love crime shows and Dr. Phil. My favorite color seems to change every few years. Louisiana style bread pudding is my favorite dessert. My husband sang songs that he wrote about our falling-in-love story in a full CD album and even had a sold-out concert to perform it.
