Zitzer is a native of Dillon, Montana. She is the daughter Sara and Andrew Zitzer.
Growing up, Zitzer attended Beaverhead High School located in Dillon, Montana. While there, she was a star athlete. Zitzer’s main sport was volleyball where she was a three-year letter winner. She earned an Honorable Mention All-Conference Honors twice, as a sophomore and junior. She was tabbed as a First-Team All-Conference and All-State pick as a senior and helped guide her team to a divisional championship in 2008 and the divisional semifinals in 2009.
In addition to her volleyball career, Zitzer lettered in basketball and tennis. She was also an All-State selection in basketball.
After graduating from high school in 2009, Zitzer took her studies to Concordia University – Portland where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Social Work. Afterwards, she attended the University of North Dakota, where she graduated with a Masters of Social Work in 2017.
One of Zitzer’s first appearances in pageants came with the Miss America Organization in 2014 when she competed at the 2014 Miss Montana Pageant.
Zitzer later returned to the pageant stage in 2018 at the 2018 Miss Montana USA Pageant. She represented Zootown and placed as first runner-up.
Encouraged by her strong performance, Zitzer registered for the 2019 Miss Montana USA Pageant, again representing Zootown. On her second try at the title, Zitzer walked away with the crown. She was crowned Miss Montana USA 2019 on September, 16, 2018, at the Missoula Community Theatre located in Missoula, Montana. She will compete for the title of Miss USA 2019.
