CHILDHOOD CANCER AWEARNESS - At the age of 13, I started my own charity called Coloring For A Cure with Gena Blair Inc. after losing my grandfather to cancer. I wanted to bring awareness to childhood cancer by donating coloring books and crayons to bring smiles to the faces of children who are hospitalized. My grandfather was able to live a long life and I wanted to bring that same hope to these children and their families and honor them. I have been fortunate to have support from my community, along with WQBC radio and WHAS11 for interviewing me while helping my cause. I have also had support from my Coloring for a Cure Facebook and YouTube channel followers. To date I have collected and donated over 15,000 coloring books, crayons, and craft items to hospitalized children in my state and surrounding areas. My hope is to expand to other hospitals as well as online story time on my YouTube channel. No matter how small this may seem, life jumps off the pages of these coloring books and creates smiles if for only a short time and brightens their day.
Gena is currently working as a model and pursing an acting career.
