Elexis Gibson, 26 year old south side Chicago native. I enjoy the outdoors and spending quality time with family. I served in the military before being discharged early to help care for my sick father before he passed away in 2013. I now dance with Hiplet Ballerinas in Chicago, IL and am very active in the community. I also organize an annual thanksgiving dinner for the homeless and perform for countless community events organized by my local alderman on the south side. I have hopes to open a large community, resource and activity center on the south side of Chicago to aid in broadening the world view for young children through dance and other creative resources.
Elexis Gibson started training with Studio One Dance Theater at the age of eight. After taking a nine year break, she began creating and sharing concept dance videos to her social networking platforms which turn into performances around her community. Aside from performing for multiple events for Chicago’s 17th ward Alderman, she has performed at concerts alongside reputable musicians, and for Chicago Public Schools. She hopes to spread her positive message and dance education throughout the south side of Chicago and other at risk neighborhoods.
