Dominique Campbell-Thornton is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling M.S. program. While pursuing her degree, she joined the National Counseling Professional and Academic Honor Society (Chi Sigma Iota), became a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA), and became a member of the Maryland Counseling Association (MCA).
She also developed an expressive arts therapy program called Brain Sugar; which was fueled with the knowledge and skills she developed while receiving specialized training from an art therapist. She received this training while working as a counseling intern at The Children’s Guild.
With her passion for helping others overcome mental health challenges, she obtained her counseling license (LGPC) to provide therapy for those in need. She later expanded her reach beyond her clients by implementing a mental health platform as Miss Maryland United States 2019. She contends that art is the key to a healthy mind and healthy society.
