My name is Ara'Lyne K. Johnson and I hail from the Natural State of Arkansas. I am a Biology Pre-Professional major at Alcorn State University. I am a hardworking individual who believes in setting goals and reaching for the stars. Her future goal is to continue to pursue a degree in medicine. She aims is to study cancer-related disparities using a community based participatory research approach to educate our communities, prevent disease, improve health and enhance the quality of life. I have committed and dedicate my life to help save the lives of our children’s in our community especially those of low-income families in the Delta regions of the United States. She has participated
in many community service activities such as; volunteering at Jefferson High School in Fayette MS, working the concession stands, assist in the MLK activities in Jefferson County, ASU daycare and campus clean up services just to name a few. Her most
influential volunteer service that is close to her heart is with an organization in my home state called HYPE. HYPE is a group of black young adult leaders whose mission is to feed the homeless, provided clothing, blankets while providing health education and mentoring. Ara'Lyne passion in life is to mentor young black girls to utilize STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) and create a pathway toward innovated social impact for future generations of young girls. She was awarded as Dean Scholar in 2017, Alcorn State University National Pan Hellenic Council Most Community Service Award, and a recipient of the ASU Girl Coalition Brave Girl of the Year Leadership Award. She is an active member in many organizations on campus such as; Biology Club, National Honor Society of Leadership of Success, Delta Beta Chapter of Alpha Chi Sigma Chemistry Fraternity, Beta Kappa Chi, Beta Beta Beta National Biology Honor Society, American Chemical Society, Honor Student Organization, Minority Association for Pre-Medical Students, Impact Community Service Organization, Khem Klub, Sigma Chi Iota, Alcorn State The Blueprint Mentoring Organization, Alcorn State Campus IOB Clique, Miss MAPS 2018, Miss Gamma Phi 2019, The Alcorn State Colony of Gamma Sigma Sigma National Service Sorority, a proud member of the Gorgeous Gamma Phi Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated and being a Senate and National PanHellenic Representative for AKA on her campus.
