Allison is originally from Dumont, NJ, and moved to Rochester in 2010 to attend the University of Rochester on a full-tuition scholarship. There, she earned her B.S. in Molecular Genetics and B.A. in Psychology and graduated with Honors in Research, and she continued to work as a research technician at URMC after graduating. She recently earned her M.S. in Molecular Biology from Lehigh University and now works as a research associate at Vaccinex, Inc.
Outside of work, Allison is an accomplished musician; she began playing the piano and singing when she was 6 years old and performs frequently at local venues. Allison is a leukemia survivor, and upon achieving remission and finishing treatment, she became heavily involved with the local chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, where her fundraising team has raised over $47,000 in the last eight years. She also published a book, “Getting Over a Cold,” in 2014, which documents her journey during her treatment.
Allison now lives in Greece, NY, with her husband, Derek, and their yellow Labrador retriever, Harmony. In her free time, Allison likes to tutor, arrange music, watch crime dramas, and attend pub trivia with her friends.
