Shelley Grant is an Assistant Professor of Sociology at Jacksonville University where she has taught a variety of criminal justice courses since 1998 and currently is the Assistant Cheer and Dance Coach. In addition, from 1994-2009 she was the Director of Youth Offender Programs at the State Attorney’s Office. Her passion is juvenile justice, and she actively works to help the youth of Jacksonville through positions on the City of Jacksonville Safety and Crime Reduction Commission, the State Attorney’s Office Juvenile Justice Advisory Committee, and through community mentoring projects with Communities in Schools. She has been recognized at JU with the Award for Teaching Excellence in 2016 and the Faculty Woman of the Year in 2020. She is a native of Jacksonville and is married to her high school sweetheart, Bill.
